This is an interesting book, about the US ambassador to Japan in the pre-war years. Read it if you want to be disturbed by a lot of eerie parallels between Japanese politics pre-WW 2 and US politics today.

The thing I like about AI is the hyper realistic quality. I mean who can tell this from a normal image made by someone with an actual brain?

After billions of dollars shot AI can’t figure out how many legs an ostrich has. I don’t think we need to worry about a Skynet scenario just yet.

When I wake up in the middle of the night and have trouble getting back to sleep, I like to make AI draw pictures of hybrid chicken donkeys eating lemon meringue pies while riding a bus with hats made out of horses, glasses made of hubcaps, and flying orangutans and pigs in the background.

I stand corrected. There is a practical application for AI.

Wake up in the middle of the night and can’t sleep? Why not waste a lot of electricity making Facebook’s AI thingy draw whatever the hell this is?

I used to think that AI was a useless technology. But then I discovered that you can tell it to draw a picture of a fish marrying a watering can, and now I feel that a void in my life has been filled.

I don’t know where the cat is, but I bet it’s lookin’ groovy.
