@Nonilex There is an answer for reducing massive health care costs, it's simple and proven effective by pretty much every country in the world that isn't named the United States: put everyone on publicly funded health care and pay for it through your taxes. Canada has it, for example, and we pay about half what Americans do for health care.

Watching a YouTuber talk about all the things they like and don't like having moved to Las Vegas really highlights to me the foundational problem we have talking about taxes and government services.
Two back to back points were, they loved there were no property taxes and no state taxes. Yet they acknowledged homelessness was a huge problem and wished the city or state could put more effort in helping them.
There is just a huge disconnect, even here in Canada, over wanting to pay no taxes but wanting someone to do something about "x"
