@futurebird I teach (mostly) basic math at a community college. What I battle most is fear of math brought on mostly by poor teaching in earlier grades. These are kids that mostly struggled in school were either left behind in math or allowed to just pass without really understanding.

@MissingThePt Possible reporters' questions for L'il Mike:
"Have you HEARD of newspapers?"
"What colour are the walls in your cave?"
"Umm, is there an issue with your ability to read?"
"You 'haven't had time' to do much of anything. What do you do all day? Not Speakering obviously. Whole lotta wanking goin' on?"

Every person I know who uses SNAP works more hours than I do OR they are very old or sick.
We are setting up a pantry in the laundry room, but it's not the same. Nobody wants the strange canned food that I don't want. It's not the same as $40 you can spend on the food you really need.

@pinkprius I don't think that's physically possible though.
@YurkshireLad It just wants to mess with people.
Very proud to call him a colleague for many reasons but especially this one:
"I guess the drawback is I’m less likely to get my questions answered. The benefit is that my audience is frequently reminded of the facts."
