@blakereid @marklemley "What server to use?" is an excellent question, and it's where I got hung up. Performance, stability, persistence are all considerations. Twitter is backed by Twitter, Facebook by Meta, but what about each Mastodon server? With the flood of Twitter refugees, I'd love to see public institutions like CBC in Canada, or regional libraries launch and commit to Mastodon servers for their users. It would make an easy on ramp, and take Social back from corporations.
