I'm a scientist because 52 years ago the National Science Foundation supported me, as a high school student, to do real research at a university summer science program.
The destruction of US science by Trump and the Republicans today will weaken the country for decades.

Every single right-wing politicians that ever said they backed Ukraine & love Trump now has a decision to make.

They either drop the pretence & admit they're traitors that follow Putin & his orange puppet.

Or they step up, speak out & condemn Trump for attacking Ukraine.

Our current geopolitical situation suddenly makes a lot more sense when you stop considering the US as a country which has just accidentally elected a fascist, and instead consider it as a country where tech oligarchs and Russia have conspired to successfully game the elections, and are now dismantling checks and balances.

The US is now well on the way to becoming an oligarchic puppet state of Russia... #USpol

This whole #Trump / #Musk thing is absolutely wild and admittedly is kind of flying in the face of staunch dialectical materialism, in my view.

We have a case in which the corporate oligarchs have completely won control over the government and have the ability and the drive to do everything they want to do without a mask. Fascism. And yet, unlike past forms of fascism, they're doing things that completely shoot themselves, via their class, in the foot. Dismantling #USAID, attacking their closest trade partners, and now considering withdrawing from #NATO?

It really goes to show how a lack of education goes both ways. The system of defunding education and propagandizing individualism, anti-intellectualism, and Randian bullshit has produced a left wing that can't even see straight most days...but not only that, it seems to have produced a capitalist class that doesn't even know what that means anymore.

US imperialism is on a fast track to completely destroying itself, without any intervention whatsoever from a toothless left, and...I'm kinda here for it. #communism #anticapitalism #anarchism
