As I’ve said, the Fediverse is much larger than duplicating Twitter. These kinds of academic communities rarely evolved on Twitter. Humanity’s brightest are setting up shop to move social networking to the next level.

@gemelliz I’m pretty sick of protecting detached single family homes so that we can cram ever more people on a tiny sliver of land. Not to mention the prioritization of low property taxes over services like public transit, affordable housing, public health, warming centers, parks, etc. I feel like I’m strapped into a roller coaster ride to dystopia.

I think Sunak boasting about NI being in an exciting position and a very attractive to investment is peak Brexit.
Actually, it's not. Peak Brexit is people cheering this as an act of amazing statecraft and diplomacy. While they sit in shit-filled rivers, eating mouldy turnips, they are actually cheering the fact NI get access to the SM.
The doublethink being displayed right now is staggering.

#RishiSunak talking in #NorthernIreland this morning about his #windsorframework selling the benefits and unique situation of how #SingleMarket access to the #EU AND #UK is so special and unique. Cannot think which other countries USED to have such access once before the #Brexit con was sold to the nation… 🤔
This is surely an own-goal. NI essentially wins back EU trading benefits that the #ConservativeParty have stripped from England, Scotland and Wales…🍿
Triples is best.

The only people I’ve ever seen complaining about racism against white people are… *checks notes*… ah, that’s right, racist white people.
There’s a saying that is very popular among white supremacists and neo Nazis and other far right bigots, and that saying is this: “It’s OK to be white.” It’s a catchphrase of theirs, which tries to position people deemed “white” as an oppressed minority, which they are not, instead of an artificially created privileged class, which is what they are.
