The Ontario government announced today they’ll let students to drop out of school in Grade 11 for full time construction work. Upon completing apprenticeship, they’ll give them a high school diploma.

I was a dropout. I’m a construction worker. I’m a Red Seal tradesperson, an electrician. I am now a trades instructor.

These children are fifteen years old and they should be in class. Construction can be dangerous backbreaking work.

Let’s be very clear: this is child labour, and it’s *wrong.*

People storming school board meetings are “concerned parents,” which implies that their motives are genuine and just, basically shielding their “concerns” from political scrutiny; but students protesting a racist speaker are always “activists,” never “concerned young people.”

I just spent 45 bucks for a 3 day regime to clean out my system for an upcoming colonoscopy.

That's $45 to do what a $6 order at Taco Bell could have achieved almost instantly.

This is supposed to be good news but I have a need for honesty, fairness, justice, and a system where someone's word can be trusted. And this flies in the face of that.

I guess I should grow up, but hearing Marsha Blackburn and other TN GOPers rail against "woke, green, liberalism" and then show up for the groundbreaking of the Ford EV battery plant THAT THEY VOTED AGAINST just pisses me off.
