@freemo @protecttruth , it is also interesting to look at homicide and suicide rates by nation, with or without gun control measures. I don't think guns actually play much of a factor in overall deaths. The only thing they seem to change is the existence of aberrations, like mass killings. Which are an incredibly small part of the big issue, the number of dead people. And even in the USA, the largest school killing in US history was not done with guns. Bath School murders.
@freemo @protecttruth , I strongly agree. I just say it is interesting to LOOK at the available data, and try to theorize about what it can mean. Anyone who draws conclusions is almost without doubt wrong on this issue. But, I have to admit my bias: I don't see social sciences as science.

Unfortunately that sort of analysis is almost useless simply because you have no way of controlling a rather long list of unknown confounding factors. Its one reason why scientists avoid this very sort of analysis... well, if they are serious and objective anyway.
