@StillIRise1963 , I think it starts with Wilhelm Wundt and some of his students, most notably Walter Dill Scott. These guys figured out how to manipulate folks into buying desires, rather than needs. It's fascinating how easily we all fall for it. There is another name right on the tip of my tongue.... but it eludes me for now.
