I would like to propose a law that requires registration for organ donations, and if paid for by a recipient, duplicate organs like kidneys and lungs can be seized via eminent domain. At the end of life, all your organs can be harvested, and be distributed to the highest bidder.
Alternatively, we can pass a law that says no one has dominion over your body but you, and may not use any part of your body without your absolute consent.
@JonKramer Mm, 2 extreme sides.
Here, it's implied that everybody is an organ donor unless you sign a form saying you don't want to donate organs. And there won't be a thing like 'highest bidder'.
@trinsec the 2nd alternative is not an extreme case. The individual has a choice they can make. Donate or not. Any organ, any time they wish. I think the extreme case for the 2nd option is regulations saying they may not let anyone else use their body parts. Even the 1st option could go further... any infractions and you go straight to the organ banks.
@trinsec yes, I intentionally went for opposition. To highlight why rights are important. And to level the playing field when it comes to biological sex.
@trinsec I think the only middle ground is "your body, your choice, no exceptions."
@JonKramer Well, it's quite an extreme opposition, there's always a middle ground. :D
