A military base in Kent, UK, has reduced the number of training sessions for Ukrainian troops by 30% after local residents complained about noise during live-fire exercises - The Times.

Lieutenant Colonel Mark Powell, the base commander, explained that he wants to maintain strong relations with local residents who complain that the explosions make their windows rattle and their houses vibrate.

However, there are also those who are sympathetic to the exercise. June Beaumont, 80, who has lived a few meters from the military base for 35 years, emphasized that Ukrainians are defending their country, and it makes no sense to send people who are not trained to war.

"If you buy a house or move to a place next to a military camp, what do you expect? Silence?" she wonders.

@TheOldGuy I have a house about 30 miles from Ft Knox. Ya, the glasses will rattle in the cabinets when they do live fire exercises... But you get used to it.
