@CStamp @NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 we should stop those right now. Schools are the safest place in America for kids. But we are teaching everyone they are the least safe. As far as I know, sports related deaths are still the number one killer on school grounds, but as we switch from football to soccer, that seems to be changing.

We are masters of ignoring the planks in our eyes, and focusing on the splinters. I honestly don't know what to do about this, although I suggest a constitutional amendment requiring all government employees tell the absolute truth while receiving government salaries would be a good 1st step.

@CStamp @NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 and yes, there are victims who are not part of criminal enterprise. Obviously. You will never get me to say differently. But that is a minority.

@CStamp @NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 I really can't count suicides as numbers in gun violence. Until recently, Japan had a higher suicide rate than the murder and suicide rates in the USA, combined. And no guns. Guns don't seem to change suicide rates in a population. This is something I really have no understanding of, suicide. My attitude is that the best revenge is living a long good life...

@CStamp @NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 the Swiss have actual machine guns in every household. And yet don't seem to go nuts shooting each other... as someone else pointed out, education is a factor. But I think their conservative population is just small enough that they stay down.

My theory, at least.

@CStamp @NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 An AR isn't a machine-gun. Nor is it powerful enough to be your go-to weapon in the Canadian north, even it it was a machine-gun. Probably good enough to keep you fed though. That same .223 round is in many small hunting weapons. The .223 is not used in any military though.

@NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 as for education, there are many uneducated women who don't go on shooting/killing sprees. Although I feel education can be an indicator, the problem is conservative men, world wide.

@NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 I will never choose rights or privileges based on a lack of need. I don't need a car. I don't need the model boats my uncle gave me. I don't need a private library. "Need", when mentioned, raises my hackles. I don't trust how that word is used in an argument.

@NaturaArtisMagistra @StillIRise1963 I would be fine with banning males under 30 from gun ownership. Although I do not think liberal men deserve that ban. The problem isn't women, or liberals in general, who have equal access to guns in America. Or the guns themselves. It young conservative men. Almost exclusively.

@BlueWaver22 this time, they care. It was a bank that was shot up. They will be more thoughtful than normal.

They still won't do anything, but reality is that it's hard to ban young conservative men.

@StillIRise1963 I would argue that anyone who commits a mass shooting is ALSO mentally ill, but saying such is redundant after saying "young male conservative."
