@LaNaehForaday , I would say China faced an unprecedented crisis. As I have tried to make clear in this thread, NOTHING, no system of government, no laws, should be outright rejected and each has it's time and place where it may be the best option, and at other times and places, the worst. Right now, the China policy, if applied to the USA, would be a massive mistake. In my opinion.

@LaNaehForaday , I agree with you the issue exists, I just question the methods to address it. Ending child tax credits might be a better alternative, at least for any child past the second one. No more payments to people who are nothing but contributors to the problem.

@PaulDitz , I have as much sympathy for them as the guys who die every year trying to climb Everest.

I'm CIS, and really don't care if I am called that. It's just a fact that I am, and facts stand without judgment. They just are.

When the last outbreak happened, he shut down his country and threatened to shoot anyone who stepped outside. He mass vaccinated the nation. This ended small pox.

You may not praise the man, that is your choice. But, his system worked in a way no other system could have. This is just fact. Even a military dictatorship has its time and place when it is the best system of government. This is true for all systems humans have devised or imagined.

I will bock others too, in fact I have a long list of reasons (32 of them, I think) that I use as my blocking gauge. Capitalism is... well... charming to so many. We love a good rags to riches story. We all just know that we are all just pre- millionaires. Education is the only thing that destroys those rose colored glasses.

Alluring Arctic Sailing, on youtube. I really enjoy watching people sail around the world. My favorite is Sailing Uma, but Alluring is my close second. He sails and climbs mountains and skies down them... He looks like someone who used to get beaten up a lot in high school, but each bully tried ONCE, and ended up in the hospital. Because this guy is a badass.

That cash was developed through capitalism, and those funds were paid to corporations that are solidly capitalistic. It wasn't the State University of ____ that made or sold those vaccines. It was Pfizer, J&J, Moderna, etc.
