Beautiful Mass by #FrankMartin. Double choirs, with very modal texture resembling Gregorian chants but with a very complex harmony.

“Remember to look up at the stars and now down at your feet.

Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious.

And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.

It matters that you don’t just give up.”

– Professor Stephen Hawking

One of my favorite albums; I particularly enjoy the piece "Blackberry Winter."

For some reason Spotify omits the name of the composer.

I’ve assumed that in many cases it’s the extra-musical associations that arise from the combination of his German nationalism (the Meistersinger finale being locus classicus in this regard) and personal antisemitism, which is seen as adumbrating, if not influencing, that of the Nazis.

There are writers who go so far as to claim his operas enshrine these ideas; I’ve read, but not been convinced by, books to that effect by Paul Lawrence Rose and Marc A. Weiner.

I have been using Bear and for some time; they have somewhat different capabilities. I use Bear for quick note taking, to do lists, etc, stuff I need access to no matter what Apple device I am currently using. Bear's syncing capability across all Apple device is superb.

I use for more structured writing and projects, due to Obsidians file/folder structure and its code-folding capability. And I can have an outline of the document in the right pane, where the headings can be code-folded independently. Obsidian's capabilities can be extended via plugins. I use Quick Latex for Obsidian among others.

@freemo It's Orwellian and Authortarian, exactly the thing most "progressives" say they hate. I don't get this instance thing when the tools to block entire instances are in the app, (web browser). Haven't checked to see if Fedilab has that option, but that's the way it should be done. Let the user decide!
