@trinsec It is. I’ve been working on a Zettelkasten and my Personal Knowledge Management.

I think that I’ll post some articles based on my notes later. :)

I’ve been working on an Obsidian.md vault since November.

I redownloaded Mastadon. Going to talk about whatever random stuff is on my mind here again.

@freemo Indeed. If it was American leftists then they wouldn't have complained. They don't get to claim to care about law and order when they broke it for months.

Posting on fedi is like collecting pebbles or crafting beads and then throwing them on a beach at low tide in the hope someone will like them

Many of these Audible exclusives come through Audible's Creation Exchange - an unpoliced, self-serve platform that has been abused by unscrupulous people who've illegally created audio editions of my own books (Audible won't carry my official audiobooks as they're DRM-free).

If you create an audiobook on ACX, Amazon demands that it be Audible-exclusive (and banned from library distribution) -- or it cuts your royalty rate IN HALF.

@freemo this is fascinating. I wonder what inspired this idea.

This is really interesting. They colorized a photo by overlaying some lines in a grid and ONLY adding color to the lines but oversaturating the color. The rest of the image is black and white.

The result is that at a distance or in the thumbnail it just looks like an ordinary color photo. It is only when you look up close you notice what is going on.

I've been thinking about how socialist people have been acting during the pandemic. It's been vaguely socialist. I've also been thinking about how a jaw of a human was found a while ago. This jaw was of a 40 year old male and only had one tooth. Evidence revealed that he managed to survive in that state for a while. It's likely that he had help. In a time when humans were at their most stupid humans were capable of assisting others. Perhaps it was because he was otherwise useful. Perhaps it was kindness. Either way, helping the less fortunate was something that existed.

For the majority of our existence as a species plagues and disasters were not something that happened sometimes. They were just part of life. If kindness existed in the darkest age of our history then there is no reason why it shouldn't exist now. Kindness isn't a problem to be solved. It is an asset that needs to be embraced.

Perhaps capitalism, the same capitalism that we have had for this short time now, isn't the answer. Maybe the familial communal way of life is the way we are meant to live. The way we evolved to live.

We are well within our rights as humans to try to build and be better as a species, to practice medicine and augmentation, to write our histories and our stories, but kindness is something that doesn't need to be cured. It's something that needs to be enhanced with all of our knowledge and our wisdom.

Some people seem to think that we are done evolving. I disagree. I think that we still have growth to get through. I think that ever since we picked up our first stone that we have been on the path to becoming gods.

We have been gathering the tools of our arsenal for ages. Fire, check. Electricity, check. The atom, partial check. When we master fusion we shall have the power of Lord Helios and we shall be unto gods.

Once we master fusion we shall be able to begin our mastery over space in earnest. Once we have the power of the sun in the palm of our hands we shall be akin to the heroes of old, able to rocket out into the sky, flames blazing behind us.

It is the divine mandate of humanity to expand and to grow. We must manifest our destiny into the stars and begin rebuilding the galaxy anew in our image. Then when we have that accomplished we shall proceed into the stars between the Way and Andromeda. Then Andromeda. We shall make the universe ours.

The problems in our way are immense but we must not hesitate. We must march forward. We must keep going.

Our expanding knowledge and wisdom shall set us free.

@malanrich @ChiaChatter Oh, I see. That makes more sense. I was mildly confused.

social media is a gamble. you are betting that you are smart enough and focussed enough to extract slightly more information, entertainment, and social interaction than what you pay in leached attention, extracted behavioural data, and being influenced by ads present and future. the house always wins.

@colomar@fosstodon.org , this is really cool.
