We thought achieving true AI would be difficult because human intelligence is more complex and varied than anything else we know.

And, it turns out that's still mostly true.

But what we didn't realize back then is that we're so predictable and habit-forming that we can be easily imitated by much dumber algorithms.

I'm not entirely sure I want to unpack that.

Anyone who truly knows AI- knows that we're far from the end-goal.

That is not to say what we have achieved isn't significant or any less amazing.

The true implications of smart AI will be much harder hit than what we've witnessed so far- and will potentially set humanity back centuries if not carefully addressed.
