Gordon Moore was not only the co-founder of Intel and the namesake for Moore's law, the claim that every two years the number of components on a chip double, he was also, together with his wife Betty Moore, one of the donors who made Wikidata possible. Gordon and Betty Moore were known for their philanthropy. Gordon Moore died today at the age of 94.

Most people don't know that a cold war era bunker and nuclear missle complex sits just outside North Bay Ontario. Today instead of fighting the evil USSR the site is fighting to avoid decommissioning. Built 200m below ground in1960s it was meant to withstand a Soviet nuclear attack. The public cannot access the facility since it is attached to the NORAD air base but there is a museum that you can visit.
