Film director Ihor Malakhov, who had been missing in action since December 2023, has been confirmed killed on the front lines after DNA identification.

His death was reported by director Volodymyr Tykhyi and the National Union of Filmmakers of #Ukraine. Malakhov was killed on December 29, 2023, during fighting near Avdiivka, Donetsk region.

I had the pleasure of wishing my friend in Tehran good morning. When we were in Istanbul, she said she found the loud, frequent call to prayer incredibly irritating (she, like many, many other Iranians, is not particularly religious), so I joked that we should rename it 'The Call to Tea'. And so, every time we heard the muezzins, we'd look at each other, laugh, and say 'Call to tea?' and we'd find a stall and have another tea.

This morning, she sent me this: "Call to tea?"
