Seven months ago I got a tip about a possible war crime.

A body had laid in the streets of a small village called Nova Basan - for a month.

So we started digging.

Shame on all of these #media outlets with misleading headlines about #iran.

1) the morality police hasn’t been “disbanded” or “shut down”. A single official (prosecutor general) vaguely suggested “pausing” or suspending it for a bit

2) This is a play for international community to ease up pressure on the Iranian government. It’s a smokescreen.

I wish it were more complicated than Elon just hates multiracial democracy. Elevating this conspiracy when Bolsonaro is searching for excuses to foment a Jan6-style insurrection is beyond irresponsible. It’s being an accessory. And that’s his whole agenda, undermining democracy.

I cannot stand the palate-cloyingly sugary shit with which they fill mince pies these days so I have started making my own mincemeat to a recipe used by Auguste Escoffier; chef de cuisine at the Savoy at the turn of the 19th/20th century. His recipe contains no added sugar at all, but a fair bit of alcohol as indeed it should (to preserve it).

I'm using a version of #ungrading where students meet with me to tell me what grade they deserve and why. I reserve the right to override this, but usually don't have to.

Many of them are quite nervous about this. It strikes me that this is good practice for asking for promotions and raises.
