Anyone here use devuan as a distro much?

@twotwenty

I've never given it much thought. Why would you want any particular display manager?

@Pat a matter of need and preference. I've used most display managers over the years with a long test. obviously on servers it really comes down to systemd vs sysvinit or openrc.

@Pat @twotwenty display manager is the thing that allows login and run some DE or WM. does it matter that much?
Devuan is generally a clone of Debian and there's not much difference in end-user graphics. but yes, Devuan is free from RedRat useless-d crap and it's much better. not ideal, but anyway.

Okay. Now it makes sense.

I've use KDE or xcfe depending on the application, some apps require KDE, but I prefer the UI on xcfe. I still run into "undocumented features" with xcfe4, but it's actively developed/supported.

Yeah, systemd is Devuan's raison d'être; init freedom and all that, which I support.

I've never used Void. I just now looked it up and it looks like the main feature is the package manager.
