@Pat It has more to do with the lockdowns as a result of COVID.
There's been a demonstrable decrease in driver quality since the lockdowns begin, for many small reasons that added up:
1) Some people didn't drive for a while while locking down and their skills atrophied.
2) Companies became desperate for delivery drivers, incentivizing those who might not otherwise drive to begin doing so for a job.
3) New drivers learned how to drive while traffic was heavily reduced, and are now being exposed to higher densities.
