@ton @johanbove You don't have to have a Google account to use Android at all! It prompts you way too many times but if you skip all of them, you're gmail-free. For installing applications, you should use F-Droid <https://f-droid.org>.
@obsolete29 Maybe a PGP signature? :p
Hey! I'm Mira. I make noises and sometimes some music comes out.
Broadly, I make "loud electronic music". A lot of it is just "exciting sounds for your ear holes" but I like to throw a bit of pretentious music theory in there sometimes to keep things interesting.
I publish to bandcamp: https://miraonthewall.bandcamp.com/
Like my stuff? Tell people about it! (please <3)

@serhat Reject modernity, return to ASCII encoding + bitmap fonts
@freemo Built-in transaction privacy by default and impossibility of centralisation by design, though I do not know how the latter could be achieved.
@artyom Why not FreeBSD though?
Well, got to say that it is crazy good. You got to be a bit patient but damn does it pay off so well... Learnt a lot of things, in which the most important one being that THERE IS AN NCURSES PULSEAUDIO MIXER

@mathew Aside from features, one should also keep the licence of software in mind. Vivaldi is a proprietary software that you cannot see, study or modify its inner workings so it could be doing most sorts of malicious processes in the background without giving any chance for people to prove otherwise.
@nuala Assuming you are still looking for a browser, I highly suggest LibreWolf
@AaronTheIssueGuy We speak of Lemmy here. :p
@aral For their capitalist entity to succeed in today's implementation, one needs to disregard their moral and ethical values.
Youtube is fun to you but you do not really agree with the #tracking policy of #google ?
Invidious is a frontend for #youtube to watch videos without a google account and without the tracking and advertising of the Youtube website.
