@Drezil Thank you. I needed to hear this.
I program for over 20 years. I just closed some tabs from yesterday:
"how to create directory in python"
"concat lists python"
"load 2 models tensorflow"
"how set pythonpath"
and some others.
And yes. I have a masters degree in informatics.
You don't need to learn things that you rarely need & are just 1 duckduckgo away by heart. Knowing that they exist and what to search for is sufficient.
Important are the thing you cannot search. Concentrate on those.
Who would be interested in me building the following server. If I get 100 yes votes or more I will build it.
Cursed Amnesia servers
1) All users must behave and present themselves is a non-identifiable way
2) any user reliably identified will be suspended from the user, they can always open another account
3) Server will change its URL once a day, currently registered users will get an email of the new address
4) when the address changes all handles of users are automatically randomized. Login will remain the same but it will appear as a fresh new account with no posts or followers. The old account will still remain as will your posts.

Re: my previous toot on keeping track on reading, my KOBO reader just asked if I should check some of the books as unread because they've been sitting at 1% for a long time. 3 out of 5 of those books listed for my review are ones I already read, but I must have accidentally opened it again so the progress reset to 1%.
It still took me about full 10 seconds to recall if I've read them or not. It would suck if I didn't think I have read them.

@david
I'm on a remote island for this week and intentionally left my laptop behind. I haven't been happier. Although I miss doing stuff like making anki flashcards and writing things on my laptop. I love handwriting but 1. Wrist fatigue 2. Paper faffing about
@neil
This is amazing. I'm doing this in my hippocampus wiki.
@david
Chinese have evolved their netspeak as well. I don't hang out as much in the Chinese speaking space but Taiwanese use the term "motorcycle boi/gurl" for video game nerds/addicts.

Hey, fediverse, I'm looking for resources to help a friend. #AdviceWanted #autism
She's autistic and has been struggling to balance her responsibilities with the things she enjoys. Her enthusiasm is one of her best qualities, but lately she insists that she can't like anything without it becoming an "obsession" that gets in the way of other things.
Consequently, she's become afraid to have an interest in anything at all. Does anyone know some autism-supportive resources to help her?
@NOCARRIER
Yay
@ada
Hi Ada o/ yes introductions are totally a thing.
@neil
My hippocampus blog is on dokuwiki, but come to think of it I haven't used the wiki side of it enough (silly how that was the reason I picked doku in the first place!). Thanks for the reminder!
@david @freemo I feel that for the past decade, since I finished uni (major in programming), I've been shying away from the very thing I majored in myself because I couldn't shake off a sense of guilt that I still don't feel like I know anything. And of course no one had told me it's perfectly okay to still not know anything. Heck, HTML5 was still being defined in 2010.
That unneeded shame happens often to me and stops me on my track. It never had to be that way. So thank you guys for reminding me that it's not something to stress over.
@freemo Heckn margins man. The fact that margin { 0, auto; } magically centres elements still baffle me. It's one of those cases of "It's still magic even if I know how it works".
