PSA: This is how you write a call to action:
"Vote, and vote for Biden, or you will be living in a fascist dictatorship. Even if you think Biden sucks, not voting for him makes it more likely that Trump will win."
1: action, 2: reason, 3: explanation.
Literally *everybody* who will see your post already agrees that Trump should not be president. But some of them *might* still have stupid ideas about the whole voting thing.
“It is just over,” journalist @caseynewton told The Post.
“If you wouldn’t join Gab, or Parler, or Truth Social, there’s no reason you should be on X. I think it’s time for journalists and publishers, in particular, to acknowledge the new reality and to get the heck off that website.”

#Youtube just killed the video on Cory Doctorow’s Hackaday keynote address on #Enshittification because I was watching it in DuckDuckGo, and directed me to watch on Youtube while signed into Google. I was right in the middle of the “Google is an acquirer, not an innovator” part! The IRONY! @pluralistic
“Dictators can't do it alone. They need propagandists and torturers to implement their vile agenda
America needs to know about #MikeDavis, frontrunner for #Trump 47 AG, auditioning by calling for 'gulags' and 'kids in cages'
No wonder Team Trump is eyeing him as attorney general in 2025.”
If @willbunch wrote it, you should read it.© & I thread it. 1/…🧵

If you're not worried about the accelerating trend in extreme climate events, it's because the media aren't reporting them.
October temperatures were off the charts bad.

Another reason I've found little usefulness in Bluesky is the post length limitations. I no longer am willing to spend any significant amount of time on platforms that require me to either speak in headlines -- which I feel has contributed notably to disinformation and other social disintegration -- or string multiple posts together like kindergartners with building blocks. Once upon a time those limits made technical sense in some cases. Now they do not for text postings. Perhaps the only sensible thing Musk did to #Twitter was lift those limits -- but of course only for his paid tiers, so just part of his twisted scheme.
And at this moment many out there are yelling at their screens: "But #Mastodon has post length limits!" And yes, that's true by default, but any instance can choose to change them, and for my instance, I set that limit to, oh, 20K characters or so per post (though I don't think I've ever actually used half of that). This of course doesn't help other people who want to post longer texts on other instances, but the capability is there, if admins choose to use it.

America right?
So here i am in Australia, in hospital after a Whipples opration. Major major surgery + ICU + 4wks in hospital own room and bathroom/shower. My bill so far is $90
Just saying.
Youre all being taken for a ride and half the population is too stupid to see it.
US media ignore the illegal (according to the UN) 24-foot* tall wall that #Israel built to sequester the Occupied Palestinian Territories (#OPT)
“The #UnitedNations has stated on many occasions that the 53-year-old #IsraeliOccupation is the source of profound #HumanRights #violations against the #Palestinian people”

Did he, or did he not, taken on Oath of Office? 🧐
So if I’ve understood correctly, a Colorado district court found that Trump engaged in insurrection and that the First Amendment did not protect his inciting speech at the Ellipse on January 6. But he can still be on the ballot in the state because (checks notes) the Presidency is not an “office of the United States” and that the president is not an “officer.” That is certainly an odd thing to conclude. If the President is not an officer, who the hell is?!
What are they going to do with more incubators?
They *have* incubators. What they don't have is electricity (or fuel, food, or water), because Netanyahu cut those things to every human being Israel has trapped inside fences that Israel built. And a naval blockade Israel raised. For the last 16 years.
Talk about performative PR.
