I joined an Italian #union years ago.
My point though is that usual methods are suboptimal to useless in IT.
Yet #developers have very effective ways to fight for what they don't want to do because it's wrong (be it exploiting people through social networks or killing through software weapons): subtle #bugs.
Suppose you work for #Google and you realize your work is going to be used to kill kids in #Gaza.
Suppose that it makes you realize what kind of people you are working for.
What's the most effective way you can reduce the victims?
Protest publicily and you will be fired.
(because "US democracy" 🤢)
But what if you hid subtle bugs deep in the software that pass all QA check but turns the software into a huge liability when run in production?
@Shamar @shauna unionize!
