@TheStrugglingScientists "But you've graduated already, you've been postdoc for 4 years.. that does not make any sense!" ".. always."
Hey folks. Another important development in #LitStudies Mastodon: we now have a group thanks to @AnnaSBrasch. The group is @litstudies
A group is an account you can follow that will gather all Mastodon posts that mention the group. It’s sort of like following a hashtag/topic on Twitter.
Please boost this (or Anna’s post about this) so that everyone in #LitStudies Mastodon knows about it.
Twitter was really useful for finding people to write about. I’d often stumble across incredible stories of discovery, innovation and leadership. I hope #ScienceMastodon can be the same. If you come across extraordinary, inspirational #WomenInSTEM / researchers from other historically excluded groups, please let me know! #TwitterMigration
@SeanMacK run!! ahah, good luck to you too Sean
Like many I'm finding Debirdify useful to find people with whom I'd connected on the birdsite across different servers here:
Whilst I'm on #introductions, I'm also an author. Never thought I'd say that, but here we are.
I wrote "Managing Your Mental Health During Your PhD:A Survival Guide" because I struggled during my own PhD. I felt worthless and experienced a range of emotions, feeling suicidal at times, and wanting to quit. So I decided I wanted to create a resource for others that might be struggling.
You can buy/read it here:https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-031-14194-2. #AcademicChatter #PhD #PhDProgram
Looking at my 3 followers made me realise it's introduction time! I'm Stefano, postdoc researcher in atomic structure analysis of materials and their aperiodicity now based in Germany. Entering my world means lots of mesmerising patterns, metal-organic frameworks and crystallographic allucinations, but also my two cents on supporting students and researchers in STEM struggling with the darker sides of academia Looking forward to being toot-friends!
Crystallographer seeking profound meanings in diffuse scattering patterns // Awareness is never enough, and never diversified enough.
