@mjambon In English, it is used more as a verb now:

Ca m'est egal = I don't mind

@olives The same people have 'attacked' masturbation in the past, inventing breakfast cereals that cure it etc etc. At the root is their belief that you are on earth to suffer, not experience any pleasure.

@sciencebase I've got a book "Mauve" by S Goldfield - Perkin was 18, and working on Malaria, when he stumbled across it in his petri dish.

My post on the FCA' report on bank account closures and "debanking". Unsurprisingly, it finds nothing wrong. But it's sketchy, and doesn't include Farage. There's more flack to come. coppolacomment.substack.com/p/

@sciencebase A Colour Chemist once told me about the hassle we had making mauve>purple>crimson but leps got there first.

@sciencebase It seems odd that Skippers are called butterflies and then calling them 'dingy' and 'grizzled' is just mean.

@sciencebase Judging by the number of moths in the study, University Flake is a real favourite. Some of the little ones like the laptop screen best.

@sciencebase Look at this gobful I found:

Lepidopteran moths possess two main olfactory organs, including antennae and labial palps. Compared to antennae, the labial palps are relatively specific and worthy of further investigation due to the labial-palp pit organ (LPO), which contains a large number of sensilla located on the tip segment.

@sciencebase Does the Snout Moth seek out something in particular with its huge olfactory member? I hope it doesn't get it nettled.

@sciencebase Sounds like 'chaff' or 'window'. Clever little things.

@sciencebase You'll be interested to hear that looking at the HCP options for moon iron shows that (2,1,1,2) is a possibility for one facet.

@sciencebase Do you know if any moths have defence against echolocation to put off bats?
