@ocornut EU cookie law is not the problem. You don't need to ask for consent for essential cookies, like the ones that store your login session ID or the shopping cart in a web store.

Every time you see the cookie popup, it's about selling your browsing data to third parties.

We see these popups everywhere and the reasoning is "the EU did something stupid", but it's the opposite. They caught the thieves red-handed.

The government has just confirmed it is dropping its plan to repeal the Human Rights Act and replace it with a "Bill of Rights".

This means is likely that the Human Rights Act will outlast the current government, despite the many attempts by this government to remove it.

As part of a wave of layoffs, I got laid off from my backend development job last month as the company's financials I was working with have been steadily decreasing. I'm laughing at memes about billionaires who can't pull themselves up to the surface by their own bootstraps, but in reality I'm furious.

I'm furious I was accused of human smuggling by FRONTEX (European border agency) for being part of a sea rescue operation that saved 1000+ lives of refugees fleeing war & terrorism.

I'm furious at the money and international effort being spent to rescue these billionaires when operations like ours cost so little and save so many lives, but are punished.
