I hope you're all having a fantastic day today. It's a beautiful day in Tel Aviv- clear skies with a lot of sun.
I've got a #RandomQuestion for you guys today:
What is a food that you have never tried but you would like to try?
No wrong answers, just a random question.
My answer? I'd like to try bird's nest soup.
@Surasanji One of those ramen bowls you often see in Japanese movies and animes, with the eggs and noodles in. They look amazing!
@InvaderXan @Nyoei The place I get it here is called Oban Koban and is a Japanese 'Street Food' inspired restaurant. They do a 'Hokkaido Ramen' Here is a pic from their website: https://images.rest.co.il/Customers/80180809/919c701c8aae44a79e243504c7e41dbb.jpg

Good day! The northern german points out Grühkohl. Yup, tastes like it sounds.
@commandelicious @Surasanji @InvaderXan Om Nom Nom! Love the green stuff! ❤️
Here's one with chicken, then! https://images.rest.co.il/Customers/80180809/dadfdca337e14fdfaa4c53488806e13b.jpg
@Surasanji @InvaderXan I'm curious btw Dave, what turned you on to the idea of trying Birds Nest soup? 🤔
I never tried it before. I really enjoy food of all sorts, and in truth I'd probably be willing to try almost anything at least once.
Food is also very cultural. It's shaped by the world around the culture it exists within- and I feel like experiencing a culture through their food would be an excellent communal experience.
(Also I want to brag about how I ate a bowl of bird spit because I'm a silly man.)
@Surasanji @InvaderXan I like frogs legs. That's probably the most exotic food I have ever eaten. They remind me of the chicken I used to eat when I was young, before it was really mass produced. Very good flavour when done Cantonese style:)
@Nyoei @Surasanji I've never actually tried them. After I move to France, I should probably remedy that!
Most unusual thing I've eaten... I had a curry dish in Assam called posola which was made from fried banana tree trunk. That was very tasty!
I tried them a very long time ago as a child in some place we were traveling to. I barely remember the taste. I'll have to try them again.
@Surasanji @Nyoei Looks good! I love how there are regional varieties all over Japan. In Hokkaido I had Sapporo style ramen which included butter and snow crab. 🍜
@InvaderXan @Surasanji The thought of that is making me drool. I LOVE seafood!
@Surasanji @InvaderXan I feel like I am getting teased somehow with all these delicious food images. I don't eat red meat though so at least that one is very slightly less tempting than the one Infinite Sunbeams showed a picture of. I wanted to grab that through the screen!
