So! Good morning #QOTO and all my friends on #Mastodon. How you been?
Me, been better. Having something of an off day to be honest. My fault entirely, as I forgot to reup my prescriptions with my pharmacy. SO now I'm out of meds and going through some minor withdrawal that's only going to get worse as the day goes on.
Hopefully I'll have meds tomorrow. Goodness I hope so because I'm not looking forward to my overnight period of shivering, sweating, and choking on my own tongue. :/
@freemo They're not hard to get. This is a 100% Dave-Fucked-Himself and is now complaining about himself scenario.
@Surasanji Well they are in the sense that you can just go to any corner store, no prescription, and pick up whatever you need for a few dollars. In my view they are "hard to get" everyone on the face of the planet and it shouldnt work that way IMO.
@freemo I suppose you have a point in that, but the medications I take aren't the sort of thing you can just figure out for yourself that you need. I mean, cocktail of store-bought neurotransmitters isn't something we're at the point where we can just buy at the store safely.
Although, I long for the day we reach Star Trek levels for medicine. Oh, man, I know I'll never see it... but making medical care SO easy and inexpensive and universal? That will be fantastic.
@Surasanji In my ideal world you'd still have doctors you can call or go see to get advice as to what medications you need. But in the end the power to make the decision and get the meds would be entierly in your hands.
@Surasanji hugs for you
@imvectech Free hugs, where do I sign up?!
@Surasanji All the best for the coming time! Being without my specific med supplies is one of my biggest fears. Hope you can get the soon again!
@pkok Yeah, dude. The withdrawal from Seroquel (The main drug I'm on) is bruuuuuttal and fast acting when you go cold turkey. My sister, a former Heroin addict, who is also on this medication feels that the withdrawal from seroquel is WORSE than that from heroin.
@Surasanji Oh man that sounds terrible! Any thoughts/acts helping you through the day today?
@pkok Not really. The withdrawal is primarily physical in nature. I just sort of have to power through it and do my best. Luckily, I work in a pretty supportive environment with people who are willing to pick up my slack when shit ain't just right.
@Surasanji a supportive environment is all you could wish for now 😊
@pkok It's really the best part of my office. I love the people I work with. They are really, really fantastic.
@Surasanji Meds should not be so hard to get! I hope it works out for you.
