@realcaseyrollins Yeah, they're of the type who tend to discount anything that doesn't follow their opinion, feel that bigoted people cannot and will not change, and generally feel like if you're not with them you're against them.

@Surasanji Hmm, well IDK about the users but the admin certainly seemed to have that mindset.

Ironically he discounted everything I had to say and was bent on taking it the wrong way, while I was doing my best to reconcile and find common ground! LOL.
@Surasanji Well I'm pretty sure that's the first instance I've gotten to ban this abandoned instance.

@realcaseyrollins ha.

Yeah, that dude discounted my arguments for engaging bigots, and then suggested that because I'm a Zionist my points were without merit.

@Surasanji Yep. I've started using this account more than @realcaseyrollins because it's banned on fewer instances but I guess peeps will blindly block this instance since I like free speech and agree with Gab's mission.

That dude has over 22k followers IIRC, and called for people to to block ost.social

@realcaseyrollins@ost.social @realcaseyrollins Yeah, I get you- it's a perfectly legitimate reason to exit an instance to reach a wider audience.

There are a lot of people out there who just don't like their world view to be questioned because they've wrapped themselves up so much in making that their identity.

They see a disagreement with that world view as a personal attack against their identity as a result, and behave in a way to protect themselves.
