Sofya Zayets was killed by airstrikes of the Russian army on the village of Chorne, Kupyan district, Kharkiv region, on February 15, 2024.
Aunt and uncle died nearby.

The girl was 17 years old. Studied in the first year of Kharkiv National Pedagogical University named after Hryhoriy Skovoroda, studied history.

She dreamed of becoming a psychologist and helping others. Relatives affectionately called her Sonya. She is the eldest daughter in a large family.

"She was a very serious girl, responsible, persistent, kind and fair. I grew up a real patriot," cousin Yulia said.

Sofia is survived by her mother, grandmother, sisters Anya and Vika, brother Nikita.

Air force major, fighter pilot, 33-year-old Andriy Tkachenko died in the sky over the Donetsk region during a combat mission.

He was from the city of Sambyr, Lviv Region.

The hero has a small son left.

Fighter pilot Andrii Tkachenko, Major of Ukraine’s Air Force, has been killed in Donetsk Oblast while undertaking a combat mission.

Plast Sambir said that Tkachenko was killed in the skies over Donetsk Oblast on 8 March 2024, while undertaking a combat mission.

Tkachenko served in Ivano-Frankivsk, then Kharkiv, and then again in Ivano-Frankivsk. Since the beginning of the war in 2014, he carried out combat missions as part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation and the Joint Forces Operation, the designations of Ukraine’s efforts to oppose russian forces in Ukraine's east in 2014-2022.

Following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Tkachenko operated in the country's east and south.

He is survived by his wife and his six-year-old son. Tkachenko will be buried in Ivano-Frankivsk.

28-year-old junior sergeant Vadym Kobzar died on October 29, 2023 in Donetsk region.

Vadim was from Odesa. He was fond of fishing and computer games. After marriage, he moved to Chernihiv. He worked as a sales manager at a food wholesale base.

During the full-scale war, he joined the ranks of the 92nd separate assault brigade named after Ivan Sirk, the chieftain of the region. He was the commander of the sapper unit.

"Vadim was purposeful, kind, brave, always moving forward, devoted himself to his work. He mastered the profession of a sapper in such a way that he taught everyone, he was called an "encyclopedia man", - said his wife Olga.

"Mala" is a border guard. She is a combat medic and a shooter of a mobile fire team that hunts "Shakheds".

Today there are tens of thousands of people like her. Some have been in the army since 2014, some joined after February 24, 2022, and some are just starting their military career.

The life of four-month-old Tymofiy Haydarzhy was taken by the Russian shelling of Odessa on March 2, 2024. He and his mother , Anna, ended up under the rubble of the house.

Timofia's older sister, Liza, as well as their father Serhiy, were in another room during the attack, and they managed to survive. In total, that enemy strike took the lives of twelve people, five of whom were children.

Timofey was born on October 20, 2023 in a family of evangelical Christians: photographer Serhiy and florist Anna. The boy's grandfather is Mykola Sidak, pastor of the Odesa Peresypsk Church.

Relatives adored the baby, gently called him Timosh.

"In 2023, we had a beautiful son, Timofey - such a bright boy, a ray of sunshine for all of us," Serhii Haydarzhi said about his son during the evening in memory of Anna and Timofey.

Timofey is survived by his father, sister, grandmother, grandfather, aunts, uncle and other relatives.

He threw a grenade at russian occupiers to evade capture.

The second time he persuaded three russian occupiers to surrender and go with him to Ukrainian positions, they had been unable to leave because of Russian snipers and had no food.

The commanders of these occupiers did not even suspect that the Russians were already in captivity. Thanks to this, our guys regained their position that same evening.

A captured occupier from the "Storm-V" detachment was suspected of shooting a soldier of the Armed Forces.

Dmytro Kurashov, who has been convicted many times, faces life imprisonment for violation of the customs of war, combined with intentional murder.

Kurashov was a rifleman of the assault squad of the 127th motorized rifle division of the Eastern Military District. On January 6 of this year, he shot a Ukrainian soldier who was captured by the russians during a "meat" assault. Soon, Kurashov himself was captured along with his colleagues. During the interrogation at the SBU, another captured russian "turned in" Kurashov, and later the SBU received other evidence of his guilt.
