"When there is such a war in Ukraine, I cannot stand aside."
Britney, call sign "Captain," is a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces. She served as a crew chief of a Leopard tank.
When Canada donated the first Leopard tanks to Ukraine, Britney signed a contract to train the crews as an instructor. That's where she met the Ukrainian military.
"I was very impressed by the patriotic attitude of the Ukrainian tankers and their desire to learn. When I returned from the training, I was overwhelmed with emotions. And the decision to go to help Ukraine came naturally, because I clearly realized that there is a large-scale war going on there, and I simply cannot stay away. I am a professional military woman and I have to be where my knowledge and experience will help win peace," Britney said.
Now "Captain" speaks Ukrainian well enough to understand the commander and communicate with the crew.
Britney is a gunner, but she plans to study and learn from the experience of her comrades in order to fight our common enemy more effectively and grow in her career.
"I will do my best to be effective on the battlefield and help Ukraine be free and independent," the "Captain" added.

Zelensky's evening address:
I held a meeting with the Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal, on current issues and some urgent decisions that need to be made. There was also a meeting with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksandr Lytvynenko, about monitoring the implementation of NSDC decisions and preparing some military agenda for the next meeting of the Staff.
Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi delivered a report: the frontline situation and the Kursk operation. The major focus is on the challenging directions in the Donetsk region, and also, the needs of our warriors and our combat brigades for timely supplies from partners. Timeliness always means better results. Today, I want to highlight the efforts of our warriors: the 38th separate marine brigade – this is the Pokrovsk direction – and the 79th separate airborne assault brigade – this is the Kurakhove direction. Thank you, guys!
I thank everyone who helps! Glory to all those who fight for Ukraine!
Glory to Ukraine!
I like your shirt, Mr. President! 👍

We didn't do it.
Akhmat commander Alaudinov admits that the russian military rapes and kills in the Kursk region, but assures these are not Akhmat fighters.
In an interview with pro-war blogger Maxim Kalashnikov, said that the Ministry of Infernal Affairs recorded 187 crimes committed by the Russian military in the Kursk region. The the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kursk region, Viktor Kosarev allegedly told him that among the crimes of the Russian military are murders and rapes, but allegedly none of them were committed by Akhmat fighters. He did not name the period during which these crimes were allegedly registered.
Earlier, the authorities did not officially report on the number of crimes committed by the Russian military in the Kursk region. At the same time, CCTV cameras repeatedly caught cases of looting by the military, and in at least one case, a Akhmat soldier participated in it...

The UN Secretary-General has arrived in Russia and was welcomed with a traditional korovay – the bread typically offered to greet guests
One has to wonder if this korovay was made from wheat that Russia looted from Ukraine.
Once again, the UN appears to have no issue meeting with a criminal wanted by the Hague prosecutor.

🤬ISW: russians are systematically executing prisoners of war and using chemical weapons.
According to the assessment by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), russian forces have recently increased the number of systematic executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war, which violates the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war, prohibiting inhumane treatment and execution of POWs.
A russian military blogger posted a video and openly stated on October 20 that russian forces are using chloropicrin (a pesticide that damages the lungs) against Ukrainian troops.
Ukrainian officials had previously reported that russian forces are increasingly equipping grenades with chloropicrin.
