Ukrainian naval drones struck two sanctioned Russian shadow-fleet oil tankers in the Black Sea, security services reported.
This was a joint operation by the Security Service’s counterintelligence and the Ukrainian Navy. Modified Sea Baby naval drones targeted the tankers Kairo and Virat. At the moment of the strike, both vessels were heading to Novorossiysk for loading.
Because of the critical damage, the tankers have been effectively taken out of service. Together they could carry nearly 70 million dollars worth of oil and were helping Russia bypass international sanctions.
