"The private sector is now permitted to manufacture ammunition," stated Oleksandr Kamyshin.

"In the defense industry, we are witnessing a growing number of private companies producing specific types of ammunition and their components," Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin mentioned during the "Ukraine: The Year is 2024" forum.

"Today, private manufacturers are authorized to engage in ammunition production. Particularly, private companies lead in the production of ammunition for drones. Similarly, there is an increasing private sector involvement in producing components for artillery mortars," the minister added.

Kamyshin highlighted that the market liberalization process in the defense industry is ongoing, enabling more private companies to participate in it.

▫️ Presently, there are a total of 500 military-industrial enterprises in operation. Among them, 100 are state-owned while 400 are privately owned. The workforce in the defense sector comprises approximately 300,000 individuals.

▫️ In 2023, Ukraine witnessed a significant surge in ammunition production. The production of mortar ammunition skyrocketed by 48 times, while artillery shell production increased by 2.8 times.

▫️ A key objective for 2024 is to reduce the cost of weapons production. For instance, the target price for the effective utilization of an FPV drone is set at $1,000.

▫️ Ukrainian industry is gearing up to significantly ramp up the production of robotic ground drones in 2024.

The scale and number of outrages and war crimes committed by Russia on a daily basis since the Feb. 24, 2022 full-scale invasion have shocked to the whole world.

This list is by no means complete, and the fact that we mention these particular events now does not mean that there are other examples of the war crimes Russia has committed and continues so to do. The atrocities enumerated here illustrate the inexplicable criminal conduct of Moscow’s servant and the inhuman treatment inflicted on Ukrainians over the last two years.

The war crimes committed by the Russian Federation are crimes against humanity and must be punished.

After Two Years Russia Resorts to Throwing Ancient Tanks into Battle - It May Not Be Enough.

At the end of two years of conventional war, the fact that the Ukrainian army is able to shoot the Kremlin’s museum pieces to bits is not exactly the worst news, for what was once the biggest and most intimidating fleet of armored combat vehicles on Earth. The real problem is the drones.

During a Feb. 17 attack, about 20 Cold War era Russian T-55 and T-62 tanks rumbled north as the steel spear tip of massed assault against the village of Robotyne, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) front-line position in the southern Kherson sector. What followed was witnessed on geo-located drone video and subsequent “after action reports.”

The assault tactics across open ground, by massed Cold War-era tanks, would have been familiar to Israeli or Syrian soldiers fighting on the Golan Heights in 1973. This attack was led by the men and machines from Russia’s 42nd Motorized Rifle Division.

🇺🇲🇺🇦US sanctions against Russian banks and financial companies:

Sanctions against the financial sector of Russia
The US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed restrictions on Russia's financial infrastructure, including the operator of the national payment system Mir and Russian banks, investment firms and fintech companies.

The joint-stock company " National Payment Card System " (NPKS), which is the state operator of the Russian National Payment System "Mir", was sanctioned . NPKS is owned by the Central Bank of Russia and plays a key role in facilitating financial transactions both within Russia and abroad. The distribution of "Peace" by the Russian government allowed Russia to build a financial infrastructure that allows the Russian Federation to avoid sanctions and restore severed ties with the international financial system.

The following banks are on the sanctioned list:

Avangard Bank, headquartered in Moscow;

Bank RostFinance, headquartered in Rostov-on-Don;

Chelindbank, headquartered in Chelyabinsk;

Bank International Financial Club, headquartered in Moscow;

Before Navalny's body was returned to his mother .

The Yabloko party previously demanded that the body be returned to his mother.

The social-liberal political party in Russia stated “We consider it unacceptable to impose any conditions on a funeral for a mother who lost her son.”

The statement published by the party follows :

“The inhumanity of the authorities towards the mother of Alexei Navalny is shocking.

What is happening is much more cruel than the actions of the later Soviet authorities towards Soviet dissidents who died in the colony.

After his unprecedented hunger strike and death in 1986, Anatoly Marchenko was allowed to have a funeral service and be buried with respect for the deceased, and KGB officers observed the funeral but did not interfere with it.

We are witnessing the total dehumanization of the Russian state machine."
— politician Lev Shlosberg commented on the party’s statement

Edited to clarify this statement was made prior to the release of Navalny's body.

Zelensky: Stated Western longer range weapons won't be used outside of Ukraine.

Ukraine will not use weapons supplied by foreign partners to strike targets outside of the country’s borders, President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a press conference on Feb. 24.

Ukraine has long been pleading to get long-range missiles from allies, including ATACMS and Taurus from the U.S. and Germany, respectively. Western partners have so far been reluctant to deliver the weapons that could be used to strike targets within Russia, reportedly out of the fear of potentially escalating the conflict.

Speaking on the two-year anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Zelensky said that Ukraine will use its own weapons on targets outside of Ukraine's occupied territories.

Zelensky also said that Ukraine needs additional air defense to protect civilians and soldiers.

On Feb. 19, NBC reported that the United States was prepared to provide Ukraine with newer long-range missiles that can strike targets up to 300 kilometers away if a new funding package was approved by Congress.

In October 2023, the U.S. delivered an older model of the Army Tactical Missile Systems ATACMS, which has a reduced range of 165 kilometers.

President Zelensky's comments came a day after Ukraine reported that it had downed another Russian A-50 aircraft over the Azov Sea.

So much was posted I felt I had to get it out here
Some further information on the A-50 brought down over Krasnodar Krai, in Russia just east of the Sea of Azov was 120 miles from the front line at the time of its destruction.

That’s 30 miles farther than a Patriot normally travels, prompting speculation—and some unconfirmed reporting—that the Ukrainian air force has begun firing, in the surface-to-air role, old Cold War S-200 missiles that range as far as 160 miles.

Videos on social media showed the aircraft flying low and firing flares. At one point, a larger explosion is seen several meters behind the supposed aircraft (or behind the trajectory/heading of the columns of flares being released). This can be inferred to be a moment where the unidentified air defense missile hits one such flare.

Flares are used to divert incoming anti-air missiles by producing a larger heat signature than that of the aircraft for their infrared (IR) seekers to lock on to. Shortly after, a larger explosion produces a big fireball, indicating the plane has been hit. The inferno continues descending, leaving behind a trail of uneven fire, suggesting it is the burning debris of the A-50U.

This clarifies that the aircraft was flying at a low altitude, around 1,000 feet, and had detected the missile and was undertaking evasive maneuvers.

1000 feet =
0.189 miles, which is less than a quarter-mile.

In any event, the Russians are down to possibly seven surviving A-50M/Us with digital systems plus a single next-generation A-100 early-warning plane.

There are additional, 1980s-vintage A-50s—with strictly mechanical systems—in storage, but it’s unclear whether these are capable of safe flight, to say nothing of being combat-capable.
