A coalition of left-wing parties won the parliamentary elections in France.
In France, the second round of parliamentary elections took place on Sunday. The pro-presidential center-right bloc "Together for the Republic" has lost its majority in parliament. In terms of the number of mandates, it was overtaken by the alliance of left-wing parties "New People's Front". The far-right National Rally, which won in the first round, is third.
The turnout in the second round was 66.6 percent.
In many cases, representatives of rival parties called for voting for left-wing candidates before the second round in order to prevent the victory of the far right.
The New People's Front received 182 mandates, according to the results published by the newspaper Le Monde. The pro-presidential coalition "Together for the Republic" - 168 seats. A number of its candidates were called for by the left in districts where they could not show convincing results. The National Rally receives 143 seats. The Republicans have 45 seats. The rest of the associations received a total of 39 seats.
At the same time, not a single political force managed to get a majority in parliament. There are 577 deputies in the French National Assembly, 289 seats are needed for a majority.
French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal has notified President Emmanuel Macron that he is ready to resign. Macron can appoint the prime minister himself, but the Elysee Palace said that the president will wait until the final configuration of parliament is formed.
The "New Popular Front" was made up of political forces between which there are quite large programmatic differences: the radical "Unbowed France" of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, more moderate socialists, as well as the "Greens" and the communists. Before the elections, however, the association came up with a common program, in which, among other things, it promised to continue supporting Ukraine, including the supply of weapons, and to consider the possibility of sending the military to protect Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
The New Popular Front managed to secure a decisive win, surpassing both the incumbent presidential camp and the far-right National Rally party, which had been widely expected to perform strongly. This unexpected triumph was seen as a significant blow to the political establishment and a clear mandate for the left’s ambitious agenda.
Commenting on the results of the elections in France, the Prime Minister of Poland published on X: "There is enthusiasm in Paris, disappointment in Moscow, relief in Kyiv. Enough to be happy in Warsaw."

Soldiers of the 79th separate amphibious assault brigade of the Taurian Brigade repelled one of the largest Russian assaults during the entire full-scale war in the Kurakhiv direction.
The occupying army simultaneously used 11 tanks, 45 armored combat vehicles with landing forces and 1 Terminator tank support combat vehicle. The Russians also attacked on motorcycles - 12 "racers" left.
Enemy columns moved forward to attack at dawn. The assault began at once from several directions.
The aerial reconnaissance of the 79th found Russian equipment still far away on the approaches. Our artillery immediately started working according to the order of battle of the occupiers.
The first tanks and armored fighting vehicles began to stop our strike drone operators. Then the anti-tankers entered the battle. A lot of equipment was blown up by mines insidiously placed by sappers of the 79th.
As a result of the battle, our paratroopers knocked out 6 tanks and 7 BBM with infantry. All 12 motorbikes were burnt. The Russians suffered tremendous losses in manpower: 40 Russians were killed, another 37 were wounded.
After knocking out the first tanks and armored vehicles, other vehicles rushed to flee the battlefield. Our pilots finished off the infantry that ran around the landings.
Today, the Russians were once again convinced of the real landing force of the 79th!

So far, 125 combat clashes have taken place.
Today, the situation remained the hottest in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhiv directions, and the enemy is quite active in the Lyman, Kramatorsk, and Vremiv directions .
During the day, the enemy carried out four missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine using four missiles, 47 air strikes (in particular, 59 air defense systems were used), and used 550 kamikaze drones to destroy them. He carried out 3313 shelling of the positions of our troops and settlements.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attacked five times near Hlyboky, Tychy, and Sotnytsky Kozach. All attacks were successfully repelled by our defenders. According to preliminary estimates, the losses of the aggressor for today are 73 soldiers killed and wounded, our soldiers also destroyed three artillery systems, five units of automobiles and three units of special equipment, 14 unmanned aerial vehicles. Two artillery systems and two vehicles were damaged.
In the Kupian direction, the invaders tried eight times during the day to advance to our positions near Synkivka, Stelmakhivka, and Petropavlivka. Seven enemy attacks were repulsed by the Defense Forces. The fighting continues.
In the Lymansky direction, the occupiers attacked 11 times in the areas of Makiivka, Nevsky, and Serebryansky Forest. One battle is still going on, our soldiers stopped the rest.
On the Siverskyi direction, the enemy tried unsuccessfully eight times during the day to break through our defenses in the Verkhnokamyanskyi and Ivano-Daryivka areas. The battle in the Verkhnokamyansky area continues.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the activity of the aggressor resulted in ten combat clashes. Seven attacks near Chasovoy Yar, Novy and in the direction of Novomarkovo were choked. Three skirmishes are ongoing. The invaders suffer losses.
In the Toretsk direction, our troops repelled six enemy attacks near North and New York. Two attacks were repulsed, the enemy had no success, battles continue in four locations. The situation is under control.
The enemy tried 27 times to penetrate our defenses in the Pokrovsky direction , in particular, in the areas of the settlements of Vozdvizhenka, Novoselivka Persha, Novooleksandrivka, Vovche and Karlivka. Six attacks in progress. The enemy will suffer significant losses - according to preliminary information, today our soldiers neutralized more than 200 invaders, 63 of them - irreversibly. One tank, an armored combat vehicle, an artillery system and nine cars were destroyed. Three more cars were damaged.
In the Kurakhiv direction, the enemy attacked our positions 29 times. The greatest activity was shown in the area of Kostyantynivka and Paraskoviivka, where Ukrainian soldiers repelled 22 attacks, five clashes are ongoing. Also, battles are still going on near Krasnohorivka.
In the Vremivsk direction, our troops repelled 12 enemy attacks near Kostyantynivka and Vodyanyi - seven attacks were repelled, five more are in progress.
Twice, the occupiers unsuccessfully stormed our positions in the Orihiv direction, near Malaya Tokmachka and in the direction of Novodarivka.
In the Dnieper direction, the enemy does not stop trying to knock our units out of their positions. Two unsuccessful attempts to storm the positions of Ukrainian soldiers were made by the aggressor today.
Today, the soldiers of the 95th Separate Assault Polish Brigade, who effectively destroy the enemy and inflict irreparable losses in manpower and equipment, should be noted for their effective and professional combat work .
