has deployed a network of nearly 10,000 acoustic sensors across the country to detect incoming Russian drones.

— The system was developed by two Ukrainian engineers using cell phones and microphones attached to 6-foot poles. It costs only $400-500 per sensor, totaling less than $5 million for the entire network.

— The network has been highly effective in detecting and tracking |n kamikaze drones like the Shahed-136. It provides early warning to traditional air defenses and helps dispatch drone-hunting teams.

— In one instance, it detected 84 incoming drones, allowing Ukrainian forces to shoot down all but four.

— Lt. Gen. Stephen Gainey, commanding general of U.S. () Army Space and Missile Defense Command, advocates integrating a similar low-cost acoustic network into U.S. air defense systems.

— Gen. James Hecker, leader of U.S. Air Forces in Europe and 's Allied Air Command, also expressed interest in the technology.

🕯Tell the world about Olenivka.

It's the second anniversary of the terrorist attack in the Olenivka colony.

Join us in honoring the memory of the victims of the russian crime. Engage Ukrainian and international audiences.

— On the night of July 28-29, the occupiers blew up a barrack in the Olenivka colony where Azov prisoners of war were kept.

— The explosion killed 54 and injured 130 Mariupol defenders.

— The wounded Azov soldiers carried the bodies of their comrades. Those who could be saved were left for dead by the occupiers.

— Olenivka is a crime against humanity, a violation of all possible rules of warfare and treatment of prisoners of war.

— russia is relying on the short memory of the international community, its own propaganda and that its crimes will be forgotten.

Every spread of information is important. The more people learn about the occupiers' crimes, the less chances russia has to avoid punishment.

Talk about Olenivka and join the commemoration of the victims of the terrorist attack.

Zeekr to Block Electric Vehicles in Russia

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Zeekr will block its cars in Russia due to concerns about secondary US sanctions. The official export of electric vehicles to Russia is prohibited, and the disabling of functions will affect all electric cars manufactured after July 15, 2024, that are imported into Russia illegally.

Upon detecting a foreign SIM card, the manufacturer will send the owner a warning, offering the option to return the car to China. If this warning is ignored, the main screen functions, such as navigation, music, and air conditioning, will be blocked.

A full-scale conflict on the Korean Peninsula could have catastrophic human and economic consequences, potentially killing millions and costing the global economy $4 trillion in just one year, according to Bloomberg. The report highlights that the alliance between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin, revitalized after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, adds another layer of risk to a world already grappling with aggressive ambitions from the Kremlin and threats from China towards Taiwan.

South Korea is a global leader in semiconductor production, making the probability of war low. However, should a conflict occur, the economic and human losses would be devastating. Bloomberg Economics analysts estimate that the global economy could lose 3.9% of GDP in the first year of hostilities, which is more than double the economic impact of the war in Ukraine. The halt in South Korean electronics exports alone would have a significant impact, as South Korea produces 4% of all electronic components used globally and about 40% of all memory chips. In 2022, electronics and automotive industries, which heavily rely on semiconductors, accounted for 30% of Taiwan's GDP, 11% of China's, and 8% of Japan's.

There is concern that Kim Jong-un might resort to nuclear strikes if he perceives an existential threat to his regime. A study by the Seoul Institute for Defense Analysis estimated that North Korea has about 80 to 90 nuclear warheads, sufficient to target South Korea, Japan, and even the United States.

Bloomberg Economics provided a grim outlook of the potential economic impact of a war on the Korean Peninsula within one year:

▫️South Korea's economy would be devastated, shrinking by 37.5% due to a drop in industrial production and exports.
▫️China's GDP would take a 5% hit due to the absence of South Korean semiconductors, decreased trade with the US, and disruptions in sea transportation.
▫️The US would experience a relatively smaller 2.3% drop in GDP, given its distance from the conflict and an economy dominated by services. However, chip shortages and falling markets would still pose significant challenges.
▫️Global GDP would decrease by 3.9%, with Southeast Asia, Japan, and Taiwan being the hardest hit due to their dependence on South Korean chips and vulnerabilities to disruptions in maritime shipping.

Despite these alarming projections, experts emphasize that the probability of such a conflict remains low at the moment.

In France, several communication operators have experienced significant disruptions due to sabotage, according to Deutsche Welle. Unidentified individuals cut fiber optic cables in six regions, affecting the equipment of SFR and Bouygues Telecom. Paris, currently hosting the Olympic Games, was not impacted by this incident.

The companies are currently assessing the damage, and the police have launched an investigation into the sabotage. This incident follows a series of sabotage actions on the railway system, which complicated travel for Olympic spectators. French authorities suspect far-left activists to be behind these acts, and one such activist has been detained by the police today.
