According to Donald Trump, if you vote for him as the President of the United States, he will end the war in Ukraine (on the day he is elected no less), and if you don't, there will be World War III.

It is a stark message: "Vote for me and there will be peace, but if you don't, the world will come to an end!".

And it sounds like an easy choice - everyone wants wars to end and new wars to be prevented.

"Just vote for Trump and it will all be fixed overnight."

So what will it take to stop the war against Ukraine according to Donald Trump? Essentially a deal with Putin, where Ukraine gives up the occupied Ukrainian territories and then Putin would agree to stop.

For Putin it would be perfect at this point as we move to winter to pretend to agree to this - it would allow him to consolidate the territories that he has taken and rebuild his mechanised armed forces that Ukraine has been wearing down with a fair amount of success for the last two years. He would be seen as willing to compromise and make Trump look like the peacemaker. Some might even say that this is a plan they have already agreed during Orban's visits to Mar-a-Lago.

The problem? A bully doesn't stop when you give in to him, when you show weakness. A hungry thief doesn't stop stealing if you let him keep what he has already stolen from you. Putin will be back for more.

Putin plays the long game, longer than the US 4-year election cycle, not having to worry much about elections himself.

If you attempt to appease Putin, you can be certain that he (or his successor) will be back to build the ruzzian empire ever larger soon again. It will not be a lasting peace.

That is the lesson from World War II. That world war wasn't avoided by appeasing Hitler, and appeasing Putin won't prevent World War III. If anything, it will only encourage China, Iran and other autocratic countries.

A lasting peace in Ukraine is achieved by defeating Putin, by showing strength, by allowing deep strikes against the enemy in self defense and by providing enough support to win.

Anything else will cost many times more. Many republicans (and democrats) in the US believes this. Trump doesn't.

Illegal Starlink terminals helped Russia advance on the front, including the capture of Vuhledar — The Washington Post.

According to Ukrainian military personnel, there is a thriving black market supplying Starlink terminals to Russians on the front line, and their distribution has become a key factor in Russia’s recent successes during its offensive.

Six Ukrainian soldiers and officers from various units in Donetsk told The Washington Post that Russia has bridged the technological gap, making its forces more cohesive and increasing the number and accuracy of their attacks.

An officer from the 72nd Mechanized Brigade, which has been defending the Vuhledar area since 2022 and was recently forced to retreat, called Russia’s use of the Starlink system one of the critical factors, alongside a shortage of manpower and weapons, that hastened the fall of Vuhledar.

The completely idiotic Russian propaganda filmed a video with Ukrainian prisoners, where they are driven around the so-called LPR to show how life supposedly is in Luhansk, claiming that they are not savages

At the same time, the idiotic Russian propaganda forgot its previous statements that Ukraine had allegedly been "bombing Donbas" for eight years, which promoted the invasion, yet in the footage they show a completely intact Luhansk.

Meanwhile, what the so-called "Russian army" is doing to Ukrainian cities is something we've all clearly seen and know — it doesn't just bomb them, it reduces them to dust, and then drops munitions on the peaceful residents of Kherson and other cities.

If Russia's supporters think they can get away with all this, they are gravely mistaken.

Ukraine training army of robot drones to take out Russian targets - Forces News

Ukraine is training an army of robot drones, teaching them how to distinguish Russian soldiers on the battlefield by their uniforms and the way they move, a new report has said.

Ukraine has been called a 'war lab for the future' and nowhere more so than in the military use of drones, with Kyiv aiming to produce a million UAVs this year.

However, the report, written by US-Ukrainian journalist David Kirichenko, warned Nato that Western military ethics may hand Russia an advantage when it comes to the use of AI drones.

⚡️Russian fighter jets likely left Belarus, monitoring group says.

Two Russian MiG-31K jets that were transferred to Belarus this week have most likely returned to Russia, the Belarusian monitoring group Hajun reported on Oct. 12.

Their sudden appearance in Belarus prompted speculation from Ukrainian officials and military experts that Russia may have moved the jets to Belarus to evade Ukrainian strikes, or to prepare for another massive attack.

Analysts cite sources in the 1st Separate Brigade. According to them, this happened on October 10 in the area of the settlement of Zeleny Shlyakh.

However, the number of ammunition was limited and they were forced to surrender," the report says.

📄 The Ombudsman sent letters to the UN and the Red Cross regarding the shooting of soldiers in the Kursk region.

"These actions should not go unpunished, and the enemy should bear all responsibility. Russia is a terrorist country that violates all the rules and customs of war. The international community should not turn a blind eye to such crimes," emphasized Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets.

The Wildberries feud - flashback
All 26 people arrested in the criminal case on the shooting near the Wildberrys office in central Moscow have stated their desire to go to war, reported state controlled Lenta.ru.

Earlier, the State Duma adopted a bill that will allow defendants to sign into contracts even before sentencing and exempt them from criminal liability for participating in the war.

The Z-channel Alex Parker Returns commented on the elegant legal loophole that will simultaneously help the Kremlin save face and the Chechens to avoid punishment:

"The circle is closed. The attackers on the WB office in Moscow will go to the SMO after killing two people. 26 arrested defendants in the case were charged with murder, attempted murder and other articles, but all of them have already expressed their desire to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense, so they will be able to avoid punishment. Ukraine Must Join NATO After the War for Lasting Peace, Says Former US Ambassador William Taylor

William Taylor, former US Ambassador to Ukraine (2006–2009) and Chargé d’Affaires of the US to Ukraine (2019–2020), argues in The New York Times that peace in Europe depends on Ukraine’s integration into NATO once the war ends.

Taylor notes that the conflict will likely conclude when Ukraine either repels russian forces or international pressure forces russia to withdraw, or both, as President Zelenskyy has suggested. However, without NATO membership, Ukraine will remain vulnerable to future russian aggression, which has threatened its sovereignty for 300 years. Taylor asserts that Europe’s security is also at stake.

He recalls that Vladimir putin’s intent to destroy Ukraine as a nation has been evident since 2014 when russia invaded and annexed Crimea. Since February 2022, russia has intensified efforts to subjugate Ukraine through its full-scale invasion. Despite facing such brutality, Ukraine, with support from the US, Canada, Europe, and Indo-Pacific allies, has managed to hold off russian advances for over two years. Ukrainians are determined to continue their fight and, as President Biden said, they will win, but Taylor emphasizes that Ukraine needs more support now and guaranteed NATO membership after the war.

Reflecting on the NATO summit in Bucharest in 2008, Taylor believes the failure to secure Ukraine and Georgia’s membership path emboldened putin. russia subsequently invaded Georgia and later Ukraine. Had NATO provided stronger backing in 2008, the current war in Ukraine might have been averted. The key lesson from 2008, Taylor suggests, is that NATO membership is crucial for deterring russian aggression, and the US must act decisively at the next NATO summit in June.

Taylor acknowledges that russia will oppose Ukraine’s NATO membership, but stresses that the priority is ensuring peace and security, not appeasing moscow. In the meantime, NATO should take interim steps to integrate Ukraine, such as including Ukraine’s ambassador in the North Atlantic Council and inviting Ukrainian officers to NATO Military Committee meetings. Ukraine should also contribute to the Joint Expeditionary Force, a multinational unit led by the UK.

Most importantly, NATO should begin formal membership talks with Ukraine immediately so the country can swiftly join the alliance after the conflict ends. According to Taylor, Europe will not be secure or whole until Ukraine is part of NATO, and Ukraine will not agree to peace without that guarantee. The US has a leading role to play, and with sustained, determined, and innovative leadership, Ukraine’s NATO membership can become a reality, bringing lasting peace to Europe.
