🤬ISW: russians are systematically executing prisoners of war and using chemical weapons.
According to the assessment by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), russian forces have recently increased the number of systematic executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war, which violates the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war, prohibiting inhumane treatment and execution of POWs.
A russian military blogger posted a video and openly stated on October 20 that russian forces are using chloropicrin (a pesticide that damages the lungs) against Ukrainian troops.
Ukrainian officials had previously reported that russian forces are increasingly equipping grenades with chloropicrin.

A 14-year-old girl named Ania was killed along with her mother and aunt during a nighttime drone attack by Russian forces in Sumy. The drone struck their family home, leaving only her father as the sole survivor. He sustained injuries and is currently hospitalized.

Ukraine is working on a drone named “Sting” specifically designed to intercept Russian-launched Shahed-136 kamikaze drones, which are of Iranian origin, as reported by The Telegraph. Developed by the Wild Hornets group, the Sting aims to provide a more efficient means of protecting Ukrainian cities from drone attacks than traditional anti-aircraft defenses.
The Sting will have a top speed exceeding 160 km/h and can operate at altitudes up to 3,000 meters. Its design features a classic quadcopter structure, with a central dome housing the warhead and camera. Operators will pilot the drone from the ground using virtual reality goggles, giving them a direct view of its flight path.
Future upgrades for the Sting include an AI-based guidance system, which would enable the drone to autonomously lock onto enemy targets.
This will be the first UAV purpose-built to counter the Shahed-136, enhancing Ukraine’s defenses against drone-based threats.
