🤡 "Missionary" from the USA stated in Moscow that for two years he had been passing data on the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Russia from Ukraine: now he is asking to be granted Russian citizenship
According to Martindale, for two years he has been passing on the coordinates of Ukrainian military facilities to Moscow. There are currently no confirmations of this information from other sources, the Ukrainian command did not comment on it.
"For the past two years, I have done everything to save the lives of Russian soldiers and provide some kind of future for Russians in Ukraine. I would like to continue doing this," Russian media quoted the American as saying.
A press conference with Daniel Martindale was held at the press center of the Rossiya Segodnya media group – he introduced himself as a citizen of the United States and said that he had been in Ukraine since February 11, 2022.
During the meeting with reporters, Daniel Martindale said that he had asked for Russian citizenship. He showed his current passport, saying that he had gone through the war with it. Martindale said he was not coerced.
Martindale stated that while in Ukraine, he made contact with pro-Russian forces via Telegram and relayed information to them from the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine.
The U.S. Embassy in Russia has not yet commented on the information about Martindale, Reuters notes.
Igor Sikorsky, who created the first multifunctional helicopter, was Ukrainian, born in Kyiv, and later emigrated to the United States.
Many sources, unfamiliar with history and its nuances and who are unaware of the distinction between Russians and Ukrainians or of Ukrainians’ long struggle for independence, refer to him as Russian, simply because Kyiv was part of the Russian Empire at the time. Due to this lack of knowledge, they would call a Buryat, a Ukrainian, or a Chechen “Russian” alike. And if the socialist bloc in Eastern Europe that was formed after World War II had not collapsed, they would probably be saying today that Poles, Bulgarians, Czechs, Hungarians, Romanians, Albanians, and Ukrainians are also Russians. Never mind…
Igor Sikorsky’s company is still operating in the United States nearly 100 years later.

In a moving tribute, the Third Assault Brigade honors the memory of Valentyna Nahorna, known as “Valkyrie,” and her beloved, Danylo, both of whom gave their lives defending Ukraine. Valentyna, a sergeant and combat medic, and Danylo, a fighter in the same brigade, shared not only a profound love but also a steadfast commitment to their country.
Before the war, Valentyna was a biotechnologist and manicurist, with a life filled with diverse passions: she loved going to the gym, held a national powerlifting title, and had a deep fondness for cats. But when Russia’s invasion began in February 2022, she put her life on hold and joined the frontlines, displaying remarkable courage and adaptability. Despite having no formal medical training, Valentyna quickly gained respect and admiration as a skilled medic, helping countless wounded soldiers. Her colleague, Victoria Kovach, head of the brigade’s medical service, expressed deep respect: “You proved that you could and would. You loved black in clothes and light in people. You knew how to love and feel life.”
Valentyna’s family shared that her partner, Danylo, also perished on the same day. He was remembered as “Berserk” by his comrades, who will carry his memory forward. Volunteer Oleksandr Tkachenko wrote in tribute, “Eternal memory to you, Berserk friend. Rest in God. Forever in the ranks.”
Ukraine won time for the West to prepare for war with the Russian Federation. Europe did not take advantage of it - The Times
Ukraine won time for the West to prepare for war, but Europe did not take advantage of it and is "scandalously poorly" prepared for a possible russian invasion. And Putin knows it. If the russian Federation leads Ukraine to a dead end, the russian troops will be ready for a new invasion in two years, or maybe less, - writes columnist Edward Lucas in The Times column.
Lucas noted that the russian Federation is already attacking the West, in particular by carrying out sabotage. In some places, the officials and the respective companies "keep quiet" about such incidents, which leads to even more chaos.
Western intelligence agencies suspect Russia of preparing arson attacks on planes flying to the US and Canada
Russia may have been plotting to set fires on board cargo and passenger planes bound for the United States and Canada, a Western intelligence source told The Wall Street Journal (WSJ). They said devices designed for this purpose caught fire at DHL warehouses in the UK and Germany in July.
Western intelligence officials believe that the arsons were organized by the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the Russian Defense Ministry. The fires at a distribution warehouse in Birmingham and at Leipzig Airport were an attempt to test whether it was possible to start fires on board planes flying to North America, WSJ sources explained. The Polish National Prosecutor's Office said that Russian intelligence services were thus checking the channels for transmitting such packages to the United States and Canada.
Electric massagers containing a flammable magnesium-based substance caught fire at DHL warehouses. It would have been difficult to extinguish the fire after the magnesium caught fire using the systems available on board the plane, German police said. Experts said that if such items had caught fire on board the plane, it would have had to make an emergency landing, which is “difficult to do over the ocean.”
The WSJ's sources said they did not know whether the Russian intelligence operation had been sanctioned by the Kremlin. If such a sabotage had ended in a plane crash, it would have led to a serious escalation of the conflict between Russia and the West, the sources noted. According to the WSJ, Polish security forces detained four people on suspicion of preparing sabotage, whose identities have not been disclosed.
