Ukraine asked Mexican authorities to arrest Putin at the presidential inauguration
The Ukrainian Embassy in Mexico asked to arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin if he arrives for the inauguration of President Claudia Sheinbaum, which will take place on October 1. The corresponding appeal was published on the diplomatic mission's Facebook page.
"We hope that the Mexican government understands the fact that Vladimir Putin is a war criminal suspected of kidnapping and forcibly deporting Ukrainian children to Russia, whose arrest warrant was issued by the International Criminal Court, whose jurisdiction Mexico recognizes," the statement said.
The Ukrainian Embassy expressed hope that Mexico will fulfill its obligations and hand Putin over to the UN judicial body in The Hague.
The day before, it became known that Sheinbaum, who was elected president of Mexico, began sending invitations to heads of other states to her inauguration. One of the invitations was sent to Putin. It is still unknown whether the Russian President received him and whether he will participate in the event.
❗️ Russians tortured 95% of Ukrainian prisoners of war, - UN
The head of the UN Monitoring Mission, Danielle Bell, said it was the worst she had seen in her 20-year career.
"They are tortured during the first interrogation. They are beaten with metal rods and sticks, they are given severe electric shocks. They are stripped. It is horrible. It is the worst I have seen in my 20 years of career visiting prisoners on behalf of the UN. Torture is widespread and structural. 95% of Ukrainian prisoners of war have been tortured, and this is a war crime," she said.
Russian chess player Amina Abakarova blasted her supergirl Umayganat Osmanova with mercury at a chess tournament in Dagestan. She spilled mercury on the table shortly before the competition in order to knock her rival out of the tournament.
"The Russian Chess Federation temporarily suspends Dagestan chess player Amina Abakarova from participating in all competitions until the conclusion of law enforcement agencies, based on which a final decision will be made, up to a lifetime disqualification,"
the federation said in a statement.
Perhaps this could be another reason for international sports federations to think about completely excluding Russian athletes from any competitions.

"The face of a war that is not a woman's war,"
wrote Yana, a wounded Ukrainian FPV drone operator.
The girl and her father have been defending Ukraine since the beginning of the great war. A few days ago she was wounded. Even in the hospital, the soldier tries to help her comrades and says she has no right to lie down and cry because the war is on.

💭🇺🇸 Representative of the US National Security Council, John Kirby, when asked by a journalist about the events in the Kursk region:
💬 Let the Ukrainians talk about their operations, one way or another, it is most appropriate. Therefore, I would refer you to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to talk about what they are doing. We will focus on making sure they have what they need to protect themselves. ... I will add that we will contact our Ukrainian colleagues in order to have a little better understanding
