Russian drone attacks against Ukraine reach record levels but experts warn of worse to come
For the first time since the full-scale invasion, Russia launched drone attacks on cities and towns across Ukraine on a daily basis for an entire month.
According to Ukraine's Air Force, 1,339 Shahed-type kamikaze drones targeted the country in September, 1,107 of which were shot down, with some others being jammed by electronic warfare and flying into Russian or Belarusian airspace. Around 45 were unaccounted for with no further details given.

Air defense activity was reported in Kurchatov, the city where the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant is located.
The Kursk region authorities have officially confirmed that the shelling of Kurchatov did not affect the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant in any way.
It was likely that the missile hit an ammunition depot several kilometers from the nuclear power plant.

🔵 During the past day, 142 combat clashes took place.
🔵 According to detailed information, yesterday the enemy launched three rocket strikes using three rockets, as well as 67 air strikes, including 135 guided air bombs, on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas. In addition, it carried out more than four thousand attacks, including 105 from rocket salvo systems, and used 1,585 kamikaze drones for strikes.
🔥 Fifteen strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and anti-aircraft defenses of the enemy were made in the past day by missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces, in addition, two warehouses of fuel and lubricants, an artillery system, an anti-aircraft vehicle and a radio electronic warfare station were hit.
🔵 In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy carried out offensive and assault actions four times in the districts of Staritsa and Vovchansk.
🔵 The number of combat clashes per day in the Kupyansk direction reached eleven. The defense forces repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of Sinkivka, Kurylivka, Pischany, Vyshnevo, Petropavlivka, and Pershotravnevo.
🔵 In the Limansk direction, our troops stopped 13 enemy attacks. The invaders concentrated their main efforts in the areas of the settlements of Makiivka, Novosadove, Torske, Druzhelyubivka, Grekivka, and Dronivka.
🔵 One attack near Spirny was repulsed by the Defense Forces in the Siverskyi direction.
🔵 Six attempts by the invaders to advance near Chasovoy Yar, Andriyivka, Bila Hora and Stupochky were stopped by Ukrainian soldiers in the Kramatorsk direction. The situation is under control. The enemy acted with the support of aviation - hit with anti-aircraft guns in the area of Chasovoy Yar.
🔵 The aggressor's aircraft bombarded the areas of Katerynivka, Druzhba and Kleban-Bik settlements in the Toretsk direction, and the enemy tried to advance nine times in the Toretsk, Dachnoi and Nelipivka areas.
🔵 30 attacks, this number over the past day were repelled by our defenders in the Pokrovsky direction. The enemy tried to advance in the vicinity of Sukha Balka, Hirnyk, Promeny, Novotoretsky and Krutoy Yar. The main efforts of the enemy were concentrated in Mykolaivka and Selidovoy districts, where nine and seven skirmishes took place, respectively.
🔵 Defense forces continue to restrain the enemy in the Kurakhiv direction. In the districts of Novooleksandrivka, Tsukuryny, Georgiyivka, Kostyantynivka, Trudovoy, Vozdvizhenka, Antonivka, and Katerynivka, the occupiers tried to break through Ukrainian defense lines 23 times.
🔵 Three enemy attacks were stopped by our defenders in the area of Bogoyavlenka and one - near Maksimivka, in the direction of Vremivsk.
🔵 In the Orihiv direction, enemy units twice tried to advance in the districts of Kamianskyi and Novodanilivka.
🟠 Defense forces of Ukraine continue operations in the Kursk direction. Over the past day, the enemy launched one rocket and fourteen airstrikes on its own territory, using 30 guided air bombs; in addition, they fired almost 300 shots.

It ended in disaster—for the Russians. Assaulting Ukrainian positions northwest of the 30-building chemical campus, the equivalent of half a Russian battalion—17 MT-LB armored tractors, three tanks and no fewer than 100 infantry—crashed into a wall of Ukrainian firepower.
The Ukrainian army’s 57th Motorized Brigade blasted the Russian assault group with hovering drones dropping grenades—among other weapons, most likely.
When the smoke cleared, 16 MT-LBs and a tank lay wrecked.
There were literal piles of dead and mangled Russians around the smoldering hulks. “Now the guys are finishing off the remaining infantry,” one Ukrainian blogger reported.

Russia has launched 119 Kinzhal missiles at Ukraine, 28 of which have been shot down. Today, it has become known that another Patriot system has arrived in Ukraine that can shoot them down.
Unfortunately, Ukraine has not had such air defense systems for a long time.
Most of the objects hit by the Kinzhals are civilian: 68 civilian versus 15 military (latest available data, there may be more).
