lives on 10 acres in a sparsely populated area of the Ozarks. I heat with wood that is leftover by the lumber industry. When cutting oak for lumber only the trunk is used.

I have already been cutting that big stack of firewood. But not going to start stacking it until I completely clear the east end of the pile and shovel out all the bark and wood chip trash. There are a few pieces I will have to slit, but there are a bunch that are 11 or 12 inch diameter. I love those.
I have discovered that most of the wood is very green. The ends feel wet to the touch. That green.
