lives on 10 acres in a sparsely populated area of the Ozarks. I heat with wood that is leftover by the lumber industry. When cutting oak for lumber only the trunk is used.

Most people don't know this. Most don't know about Holodomor. At harvest time in Ukraine Stalin sent troops to confiscate the entire crop, leaving Ukraine to starve.

I used to work under an abusive supervisor in a toxic job where work was done in spite of the best efforts of upper management to eff it all up. I proudly put up with a lot of crap because I was the hero, saving everyone. Then, one day, I woke up and realized I had become their punching bag. I started standing up for myself and saying NO and using the employee manual against them.
I lasted 3 more months.
