Today, Energoatom reported that during a large-scale missile attack by the Russian Federation on the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant at 8:25 and 8:27, two enemy cruise missiles were detected flying dangerously close to the nuclear facility, posing a high risk of hitting the reactor and potentially causing a nuclear disaster.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on February 18 that Ukrainian Army units shot down six Russian biplanes. Five of them were of the Lancet type and one was of the Zala type. Additionally, Ukrainian defense forces conducted five air strikes on the concentration of Russian troops and one air strike on the position of an anti-aircraft missile system. Missile and artillery units also hit a Russian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system.

The mayor of Khmelnitsky, Oleksandr Symchyshyn, has released the first details of the aftermath of the attack. Three educational institutions and around 10 multi-storey residential buildings were damaged, with approximately 500 windows and balconies destroyed. Additionally, some equipment was damaged, including one private vehicle, and two civilians were wounded but their lives are not in danger. Utilities and the State Emergency Service are currently working to address the consequences of the attack. It is important to note that any explosions heard in the region are planned and people should remain calm.
