British intelligence has identified another target of the occupiers, which is the launching of Iranian-made Shahed kamikaze drones from the Krasnodar Territory and the Bryansk Region. This activity has been ongoing since the beginning of March, with at least 71 drones being launched in total. It appears that the occupiers are attempting to overwhelm the Ukrainian air defense system by launching drones from two directions.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believes that the placement of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus is a part of an information campaign to create fear in the West of a potential nuclear escalation due to Putin's statements. ISW also believes that Putin is exaggerating the capabilities of the Russian military-industrial complex to demonstrate to Western countries the futility of investing resources in supporting Ukraine. The United States, however, has not seen any signs of Russia preparing to use its nuclear arsenal.
On the morning of March 26, there were consequences of hostile shelling in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions. In Kherson, 49 shells were fired, resulting in nine wounded and damage to a humanitarian aid distribution point, private and apartment buildings. In Dnipropetrovsk, a drone dropped an explosive device in Nikopol, but there were no casualties. Today, news has begun to spread online that Russia will deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. Putin claims that this will be done without violating the nuclear non-proliferation regime and that Minsk will not gain control over nuclear charges. It has been reported that Russia has already helped to convert 10 Belarusian military aircraft for the use of tactical nuclear weapons and transferred to Minsk Iskander missile systems that can carry such charges. Putin also states that construction of a storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons will be completed in Belarus by July 1 and that training for Iskander crews is scheduled to begin on April 3. This move is believed to be in response to the British Deputy Defense Secretary's statement that they are going to supply depleted uranium shells to Ukraine. However, Western authorities and experts have pointed out that such shells are designed to combat heavy equipment and have nothing to do with nuclear weapons, and that depleted uranium munitions are also in service in Russia. The deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Russia is seen as a big step towards escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, and it is believed that whoever uses nuclear weapons in the 21st century is likely to become a pariah to the rest of the world.
The main news for today is that Biden has said that China has not yet sent weapons to Russia, Erdoğan in a conversation with Putin urged him to immediately end the war in Ukraine, the IAEA announced the visit of Director General Grossi to Zaporizhzhya NPP next week, Russia will deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus and on July 1, the construction of a storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus will be completed, and there were two fires in Russia today - at the Fregat plant in Voskresensk near Moscow, which is Russia's largest producer of secondary lead, and at a warehouse with cellulose products in Rostovskaya Narodnaya.
