❗️ The issue of US assistance to Ukraine is postponed until next year - Reuters.

"Our negotiators are going to be working very, very diligently over the December and January break period, and our goal is to get something done as soon as we get back," Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer told reporters.

The chamber's No. 2 Republican, John Thune, also said a deal would not be reached before January.

"Democrats have run out the clock to the point where getting a substantive border security deal passed before Christmas is impossible," he said on the Senate floor.

- Meanwhile, whilst the senators blame each other, Ukrainian soldiers are unable to take a break until next year or enjoy any eggnog in the trenches, defending our freedom.

The United States plans to purchase missiles for Patriot air defense systems from Japan and transfer them to Ukraine, as reported by the Washington Post.

According to the publication, Tokyo will soon officially formalize a change in policy, responding to Joe Biden's request, allowing the export of several dozen Patriot missiles to the United States. This move aims to replenish the Pentagon's stockpiles, enabling Washington to provide additional missiles to Ukraine during the critical winter period of shelling. Japan manufactures these missiles for the Patriot under a license from the American company Raytheon.

US President Joe Biden brought up this deal during discussions with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at Camp David in August, during a historic trilateral summit involving South Korea, and reiterated it at an economic summit in San Francisco last month.

It's anticipated that Tokyo will announce the relevant changes regarding arms exports as early as Friday, December 22
