Crimean Tatar Rustem Osmanov, sentenced by a Russian court to 6 years in prison, is being tortured in a Russian colony.😡

This was reported by Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets.

According to him, for the last three weeks the Crimean citizen has been kept in a punishment cell. They commit unlawful acts against the man: they brutally beat him and threaten him with murder.

“Silence in response to such cases now is provoking the aggressor’s appetite for committing new crimes! In particular, the continuation of the tactics of suppressing the spirit of illegally imprisoned civilians and prisoners of war,” Lubinets noted.

Osmanov was detained in April 2022 “while trying to enter Crimea through the Armyansk automobile checkpoint.”

In August, the Russian-controlled Belogorsky District Court of Crimea sentenced Osmanov to 6 years in prison on charges of participating in the “Crimean Tatar volunteer battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan.” Now, according to human rights activists, Osmanov is in a colony in the city of Donskoy in the Tula region of the Russian Federation.

The SBU detained an FSB agent in Odesa who was spying on air defense positions near the Black Sea

The Security Service thwarted a new attempt by the FSB to obtain actual information about Ukrainian military units in Odesa.

The enemy was most interested in the geolocations of air defense anti-aircraft missile systems and radar stations that defend the sea area and the coast of the southern region.

Telecommunication facilities in Odesa were also in the area of special attention.

In order to reveal the coordinates of the combat positions of the Defense Forces and strategic infrastructure objects, the Russian special service used its agent from the regional center.

The perpetrator acted under the guise of the head of a local company that employs sailors on fishing and commercial vessels.

On the instructions of the aggressor, the agent purposefully traveled around the territory of the region and covertly recorded the places of possible deployment of the Defense Forces.

He immediately "reported" the received information to the FSB in the form of text messages and marks on Google maps.

In the case of receiving confirmed coordinates of the units of the Armed Forces, the occupiers planned to carry out targeted missile and drone strikes on them.

Such plans of the aggressor became known to SBU employees, who promptly exposed the Russian agent and documented every step of his intelligence activity.

Thanks to the prompt response of the Security Service, the suspect was caught red-handed while conducting reconnaissance near a potential target.

The SBU also took comprehensive measures to secure Ukrainian troops.

During the search, the person involved was found to have fake credentials of a representative of the "newspaper editorial office" and the local "water supply company". It was also established that the agent regularly changed gadgets and SIM cards for the conspiracy of criminal activity.

The perpetrator is in custody. He faces life imprisonment.

⚫ While the rest of the world sends condolences for the demise of Raisi and Amirabdollahian, WE, the Iranian people, are dancing in the streets, popping champagne, and sharing sweets like it's Nowruz! Why? Because these weren't leaders, they were terrorists who terrorized our nation, stole our livelihoods, and murdered our loved ones.
Butcher Raisi has the blood of countless innocents on his hands. Liar Amirabdollahian spun webs of deceiton the global stage, grinning like a Cheshire Cat as he peddled the regime's propaganda.
So yeah, we're celebrating. This is what liberation feels like, even if it's just a taste. The world might not understand, but we do. We celebrate the fall of our oppressors. We celebrate the hope of a brighter future. This is our moment, and we're taking it!

In Blowing Up A Russian Minesweeper, Ukraine May Have Revealed A Secret: It Has ATACMS Rockets With 470-Pound Warheads

The Ukrainian military sank another warship from the Russian Black Sea Fleet on Sunday.

The Ukrainian defense ministry claimed its forces sank the minesweeper Kovrovets in an overnight strike on the port of Sevastopol in Russian-occupied Crimea, 150 miles south of the front line. Russian Telegram channels confirmed the loss.

“Another bad day for the Russian Black Sea Fleet,” the Ukrainian defense ministry quipped.

In 27 months of hard fighting since Russia widened its war on Ukraine, the Ukrainians have sunk or badly damaged more than a dozen of the Black Sea Fleet’s pre-war force of around three dozen large warships. So sinking a 200-foot minesweeper—one of two belonging to the Black Sea Fleet—isn’t all that remarkable.

*What is remarkable is how the Ukrainians may have sunk Kovrovets: with a pair of American ATACMS.*

The two-ton, ground-launched ATACMS isn’t usually an anti-ship weapon. It’s for attacks on land. That’s because the inertially-guided ATACMS is, according to most sources, accurate to within 30 feet of its target. That’s not accurate enough to reliably hit a ship with a single large warhead.

Some ATACMS models, including the 100-mile M39 and 190-mile M-39A1 models Ukraine has received from the United States in at least two batches totaling at least 120 missiles, scatter hundreds of grenade-sized submunitions. That mitigates a lack of pinpoint accuracy.

But while submunitions can damage a ship’s topside, they’re unlikely to sink it, as sinking it requires breaching the hull.

If Ukraine indeed did hit Kovrovets with ATACMS, it could mean two things. First, Ukraine has gotten 170-mile M48 or 190-mile M57 ATACMS with 470-pound warheads in addition to getting M39 and M39A1 ATACMs with submunitions.

Second, the M48 and M57 are more accurate than many observers assumed.

The implications are enormous.

For starters, what remains of the Black Sea Fleet that’s still anchoring at Sevastopol, well within range of the M39A1, M48 and M57, is in big trouble. “If ATACMS are taking out Russian warships in Sevastopol, hard to see the base having much utility left for the Russians,” pointed out Phillips O’Brien, a professor of strategic studies at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

*After all, the frequently-damaged S-400 long-range air defense battery that protects Sevastopol and nearby Belbek air base hasn’t been able to intercept incoming ATACMS.*

“Russians have almost no capability to deal with them,” noted Nuno Felix, a Portuguese military consultant.

*Equally troubling for the Russians, accurate ATACMS with unitary warheads could represent a serious danger to the Kerch Bridge, which connects southern Russian to occupied Crimea.*

The same precision that would allow an M48 or M57 to hit a ship should also allow it to hit a bridge, explained Fabian Hoffmann, a researcher with the Oslo Nuclear Project in Norway.

The Kerch Bridge isn’t the Russians’ only supply line into Crimea—there’s also a railroad threading toward the peninsula through Russian-held southern Ukraine. But if Ukraine can interdict the railroad and drop the Kerch Bridge, it could cut off Russian troops in Crimea.

“ATACMS make a serious difference in making untenable the key terrain of the war: Crimea,” Felix wrote. That the rockets may have sunk a Russian minesweeper is just a bonus for Ukraine.

A missile strike on a “secret” russian air defence base in the temporarily occupied Crimea killed a unit commander.TRAITOR

Russian media reported on this.

The burial of the commander, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Kulakov, took place in the city of Alushta. He served in the 3rd Radio Technical Regiment (military unit No. 85683) of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which monitored the airspace over Ukraine.

Kulakov died as a result of a missile attack on May 13, 2024, when Storm Shadow missiles attacked a radio engineering unit on the top of Bedenekyr.

The fact of his death confirms that the attack on the enemy’s air defense base was successful, and that some damage was done to the stationary systems.

It should be noted that prior to the annexation of Crimea, the former commander served in the 40th Radio Technical Brigade of the South Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After the annexation, Kulakov was supposed to return to mainland Ukraine, but decided to stay and take an oath to the russian Armed Forces, and became a traitor.

As previously reported, the morning missile attack that took place on Monday, May 13, 2024, and damaged facilities on the territory of the military base and killed the commander of a russian military unit.

A radar system in the Ai-Petri area, on the top of Bedenekyr, was hit. Radars located on the territory monitor the airspace in the interests of the Russian invasion army.

WE REMEMBER 💔

18 May is the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Crimean Tatar Genocide

On this day, the soviet totalitarian regime began the mass forced deportation of Crimean Tatars from their native Crimean peninsula.

NKVD officers broke into the homes of Crimean Tatars, gave them only a few minutes, half an hour at most, to gather, and drove them to railway stations. 180-200 thousand Crimean Tatars were deported in freight cars to remote regions of the ussr. Men, women, children — all of them. Many of them died on the road...

In accordance with the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognised this deportation as genocide against the Crimean Tatar people in a resolution of 2015.

Today, unpunished evil has returned. We must put an end to this — with our unity and resilience. Our readiness to continue to fight for victory, peace and just punishment of russia for all its crimes.

Deputy Speaker Olena Kondratiuk
