Chief Sergeant Oleg Kurtushan, call sign Ketya, died on January 5, 2024 in the Kherson region.

Oleg was 48 years old. Lived in the Kirovohrad Oblast. Acquired the profession of mechanic. Engaged in entrepreneurial activities. For the past 15 years, he has been interested in industrial fishing.

During the full-scale Russian invasion, he defended Ukraine as part of the 121 separate ground defense brigade.

He was awarded the "War Veteran" badge, the "Defender of the Motherland" medal and the presidential award "For the Defense of Ukraine".

"My husband was a very good family man, a loving father. We lived together for 26 happy years. He loved justice. He had a lot of friends who appreciated his best trait in him - his humanity," said Olena's wife.

Oleh is survived by his wife and daughter.
