Just heard from my dad that ₹2000 notes will be banned soon. Banks aren't releasing those notes. The government has stopped the printing of ₹2000 notes due to the suspicion of tax evasion and money laundering.

Don't know if it'll happen or not but it was the exact claim Avijit V Banerjee made right after the note ban when he was attending a conference in Presidency.
"Banning 500 and then printing 2000 doesn't make sense to me. Why print higher value if you want to stop corruption. That will enable more corruption."
@_lunawinters people have been speculating about this since a while....I think they’ve stopped printing, but another note ban like demonetisation and the economy will be crushed!
