I find it quite hard to develop a circle of connections in Mastodon. However, still looks promising.

@abde from my experience it takes quite some time to build a good home feed here, it's worth the trouble though :)
if you can "stomach" it, just go to the federated timeline and follow stuff you find interesting. you can always unfollow later.
be sure to keep an open mind and not go along with the blocklist crowd or guilt by association. it's not wrong to block or mute though, i have blocked instances and muted people.
from my experience, if you are nice to people here, they will likely be nice to you. most just want to be left alone.
